Has MALA development stopped?
« on: April 29, 2008, 09:14:23 pm »
Just curious

I'm a happy user of the current version (released August 2007) but I've not heard a single thing about a refresh build or 64-bit compatibility.  It seems that many on here on BYOAC are switching to 64-bit OS's and versions of MAME and MALA doesn't work like it should.

Any news from anyone in the know?   TIA.

loadman(not the developer but they have a connection of some sort) said development will be picking back up at some point.

OK,

thanks for the replies guys.  I really like MALA a lot (as I know many others here on the forum do, as well).  I just want to see it rise to the current challenges and continue to move forward.

Me and loadman just discovered MaLa will work fine in Mame64 if you delete MaLaKeyHook.dll from the MaLa folder :)

Thanks HeadKaze for confirming this

I don't have a 64 bit OS to test this... yet? Anyone want to donate one?   ;D

Do you have a 64-bit processor to run it on?

Well my PC at home is a AMD64 AthlonX2 dual core.

I don't want to blow away my OS so I will be loading it using a Vitual enviroment.

Will that work?

No it won't work if your running a 32 bit OS. In fact AFAIK most virtual PC software like Virtual PC and VirtualBox don't allow you to run 64-bit OS even if your real OS is 64-bit.

Headkaze,

My version of VMWare Workstation Ace (6.02 build 59824) has 64 bit O/S listed though I haven't actually tried them.  See screenshot:

I don't think any of the free ones can though (yet anyway)

I can probably get vmware (via work) if someone can donate a 64 bit os  :-)
