I'm so close to being able to play this thing!

I've got player 1 wired up and I hope to finish player 2 and the track ball by tonight or tomorrow.

Why haven't you plug the U360 directly to the computer via the USB port? (I just got mine and I will plug it with the USB instead of the I-Pac2)

They are, but in that pic I didn't have the cables hooked up (it's usb, it's not that hard to do:p).

Ok but why do I see your U360 wired to the IPac2?

Do I need to do both (IPAC + USB) too?

I see what you are saying.

That actually isn't an ipac, it's an led wiz which is used to control leds. If your cp has no lighting then for the u360's all you need is the usb harness and the rest is plug and play.

Damn, that wiring would put most stereo installers to shame!

Too bad you can't just flip it over and expose the internals. They're almost artistic.

Very cool.

I thought I posted this already but I guess I didn't.

Anyways I wanted a clean way to plug in the cab and to turn all components on with one button. I used a bits smart power strip and cut off the end and have it coming through a standard box which then connects to the switch which is connected to a male power adapter. All parts were taken from a dead computer power supply.

That is an awesome job you are doing.  The wiring is awesome!  Your trackball looks like it sits really high.  Is that the way that model sits?

The track ball is a little high and I will eventually lower it and bevel and polish the plexi edge.

It's an electric ice trackball and it doesn't naturally sit that high. The reason mine does is because I routed out material to sit the unit in and I removed the top half of the enclosure.

Love the work you are doing - Especially the single on/off. I've been looking for good pictures of someone doing that, thanks!

Nothing new, I thought I'd just post some new pics. I still have a lot to do:(

And I must say, this thing is fun! I thought I was going to build it and only play when people came over but I play almost every night!

Amazing job!! (and I LOOOOOVE your marquee!)
So a leper walks into a bar and as he gets his beer, a finger falls off. The bartender who is serving him turns and pukes all over the place. The leper, feeling bad, says, "Was it my finger falling off?" The bartender turns to him and says, "No, it's the guy dipping chips into your back."

I'm over a year late on this post, but I saw the link and read through, so I couldn't help commenting.

HOLY CRAP! That black and white looks really good! Did you end up laminating this or sticking with the paint?

Also, wow could you go from the great wiring under the CP...

To the wiring behind your coin door...

Lol, Yeah I really need to clean up the coin door wiring, it was really meant to be temporary but it worked and I got lazy. Eventually I'll clean it up and use some molex connectors to make it easy to connect/disconnect. The other wiring you see behind that are usb cables which should at least be Velcro'ed together.

With regards to laminating...I just stuck with the paint, it would have been too much work to go laminate at that point, lesson learned I guess.
However, if I ever get the artwork I want it wont really matter what I used as it will be covered up by the artwork.
