What's better? Happs or Wico

Is a Happs 8 way Microswitch joystick or a Wico 8 way leaf joystick better?

There is no "better". It is all a matter of personal likes. Some people like the feel leaf switches give while others like microswitches.

Can I assume that the types of joysticks I use for most modern fighting games are made by Happs? If so, I'll definitely go with that...

Honestly I couldn't care about the clickety, i'll just feel it as I'll have the music playing so loud I won't be able to hear it =\ I guess I'll buy the competition... one other question, how good is the Happs Super Joystick?

I personally have not had any experience with the Supers. They use a leaf actuator on a standard microswitch, that's all I can tell you.

I have tried a Happs Ultimate stick though, and didn't like it. I bought one, a 4-way, and had to add a washer under the actuator just so it wouldn't come down on top of the switch nubbin and get jammed. The way it came (with the actuator against the e-clip) did not work, I had to make it actuator/washer/e-clip in order to make it work.

All I use are Super Joysticks, and they're extremely good.  I've used my friends Ultimate Joystick, and I too have to say they're lacking what I need in a joystick.  I know what competitions feel like, they're good, but not what I like for games like Capcom vs SNK 2.  I personally highly suggest the Super joysticks for intense capcom playing, and if you feel your corners are not detecting well enough, you can physically bend the levers on the microswitches a tiny bit to make the joystick perfect.  The super to me feel's very very good for fighters because it's extremely smooth when you rotate it.  For those who need a corner to rest in while doing an uppercut, then go with the competition, but if you're going to do some crazy as ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- in Marvel vs Capcom 2 like I do (Magneto!!!)  then get the Supers.  Almost every SNK fighting game (Kof2k1 just came out) plays better with a Super joystick, because of the strange super-attacks SNK assigned (power gueyser).

oh nice, yeah, I'm glad I got to ya in time.  If you check out my website, that controller I built uses a Super Joystick, and I play CvS2 allllll the freakin time with it, works like a charm.  The only complaint I would ever have with it is that when you're totally tryin to go spastic, like doing a custom combo in A-ism with Sagat in CvS2 and you're trying to do 4 uppercuts that cancel each other, because you can't feel the corners, it's a tad bit tedious, BUT then to finish it you can do the down to forward x 2 HK  and link it up real nicely.  Iori's Iron Maiden is like 5 times easier to do with a Super, here's a combo (umm.. going off subject but oh well)   pick C-ism and chose Iori.  Note: MP=medium punch,   make sure you have 3 levels of your super bar, do this,   MP, ->MP, Lvl.2 Iron Maiden with MP, wait for the very last hit then do a Lvl.1 Iron Maiden with LP.  The timing is sort of tricky, but once you get it, you gots it.
