U360 USB problem
« on: April 13, 2008, 10:13:25 pm »
I have 2 Ultimarc U360s.  I have configured them correctly for units 1 & 2.  When I run the ultrmap software to configure the mapping I get an error saying that libusb0.dll, file not found, error 48 then the mapping software exits.  I am using a fresh install of W98SE (USB V1).  Has anyone else got this error?

I've been trying to fix for two days now.  The U360s run fine on XP.  If I can't solve it soon i think I'll dump 98SE and use the W2K.

I've searched at it seems that I am the only one that has had this problem.  Anybody else?

Thx

Switching to Win2K or XP would be the best way forward.

Yep, I gave up on 98SE. Switched to W2k but the mapping software now gives a "runtime error 430 - class does not support automation or does not support expected interface"

Any ideas.  Sorry to be a pain on this.

------hours later------

loaded all the MDAC updates based on M$ tech notes.  Still no resolution.  It could be because I installed W2K over the 98SE install instead of a clean one.   Its late and I'll try a fresh install after work tommorrow.

------a day later------

Well a wiped drive and a fresh copy of W2k SP3 installed on the machine and the same error when trying to run the mapping software.   Looks like the mapping software may be buggy.   Kind of defeats the purpose of paying extra for editable sticks.

well for anybody interested i gave up on the ultimarc editing software and had started downloading frontends to test.  I decided to try out GameEx for a front end and after the additional software to make GameEx run the editing software started working correctly.

 ??? ???

Oh well at least its working now.

Installing Direct-X should cure this problem.

  • Yeah, owning a MAME cab only leads to owning real ones. MAME just isn't good enough. It's a gateway drug.
