Groovy Game Gear Rotary Help

Hello All,

I am having some problems getting the Groovy Game Gear Rotary  interface to work.  I was hoping someone else on the board had used it before.  Sorry if this is a dumb question - I did read the instructions and put some time into it before asking:

In order to wire the rotary joysticks, do I connect wires 1,4,7,10 to K, 2,5,8,11 to M and 3,6,9,12 to O? Does the ground wire on my Happ rotary joystick just go to the ground on the board or does it need to be connected to each input?  Also, do I need to do anything special once inside of MAME on the Position analog settings to make sure MAME knows a rotary joystick is attached?  Does it use characters X and Z for left and right?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks

If nobody here answers up with help (which would be doubtful), try calling Groovy Gear and ask them, I'm sure they can give you some guidance.
