My Mame Arcade Cab Project
« on: March 11, 2008, 12:56:09 am »
Hey There All!!!

MY OFFICAL ANOUCEMENT STATING MY PROJECT

(Its already been started though)

A quick little Background story
My boss from work got a Tekken 3 cab from a friend that diden't want it anymore.
Took it home for his kids to play with, eventually the kids pulled a wire and my boss diden't know how to fix it and gave it to me. After some research come to find out it was originally a Mortal Kombat cab that the board got swapped out to Tekken 3.

Took it home and striped it and in the process of turning it to a MAME CAB!!

Quick thanks to urbecrisch for pointing me to http://www.arcadecup.com to get my monitor board re-caped (because i don't have the talent for that!)

Ive posted a BUNCH of pictures http://pincky.gotdns.com/Pictures/My%20Arcade%20Pictures/ of my progress.

I also shot some video of what it looks like as of March, 10 2008 Link http://pincky.gotdns.com/Video/

Things I have bought so far

The Real Bob Roberts = A/C Starter Kit /w Switch mounting kit  = $54.00
Mameroom.com : 2 Player control panel kit /w custom options = $122.00
Ultimarc.com :  Mag-Stik Plus Blue top, optional blue top handle, 1 ultralux illuminated push button (blue), 2 5v led lights [blue, white] , ArcadeVGA, J-PAC, PCB Mounting Feet =$220.00
Arcadecup.com : Wells Gardner K7000 series, and new remote board $107
Goovygamegear.com : NovaGEMCDR Coin Drop Replacement buttons x2, 4 peice precision screwdriver set (REALLY CAME IN HANDY!), Pushbutton nut wrench = $25.00
EBAY.COM : Digital Multitester = 12.95
EbAY.COM : Fluke 80k-40 HV Probe (To uninstall the monitor board without being SHOCKED!) $61.99

UPDATE 4/3/2008

TOTAL ORDER = $240.80

GRAND TOTAL AS OF 4-3-2008 = $843.74!!!

Now I've only spent about 30$ of my own money so far because I'm starting to sell a bunch of old electrionics via EBAY and the money I've been getting from my EBAY auctions has been going straight to my Paypal account , ultimarc, MAMEROOM, & Arcadecup.com all take Paypal so its REALLY CONVENIENT I cannot stress how much easy using Paypal is (been a member since 10-2000 NO PROBLEMS).

ITEMS I STILL NEED
Ultimarc.com ultrastik 360 (red top), Red ultalux buttons x7 blue ultralux buttons x6, white ultralux buttons x4
5v led lights for ultralux x17 white), MAYBE a PAC-DRIVE to control my LED LIGHTS?
Goovygamegear.com : turbo-twist spinner /w weight & 8-way topfire joystick (FOR TRON HUGE FAN OF THAT GAME)
Custom border around monitor (forgot the name of that)
Custom Marquee

I can't think of anything else???

It's a pain navigating back and forth between pics especially when you don't have a preview pic.
