Can the counter be set up easily?

I have a counter on the back of the coin door.  Can this be hooked into the PC or the IPac4 in some easy way as to make it register coin inserts?  And what would be involved in getting the count back to zero?  I'm not doing this to make money, I am going to be buying tokens for it - i just want to see how many games are being played.

Yes, wire it into the same wires that are connected to your coin door slots.

I thought the counter worked off of 12 volt.  So there is enough power to operate the counter?  Hmm, I didn't think it would be that simple - i'll look into it.

do some research before connecting the counter to ipac/keyboard encoders. You might need DIODES to block the 12vdc. Or get a 5vdc Counter. I have a quick diagram to how to ocnnect a counter...

Just a quick question.  I've got a KeyWiz Max encoder which has a solderable +5V connection.  Does that diagram mean that the encoders put out a +5V DC signal and I won't need to solder a wire to the very tiny +5V connection on the KeyWiz?

Dunno about keywiz. You can take a multimeter and measure the 5,6,7,8 and gnd. Then trip the coin switch and leave it CLOSE (hold it) to see the voltage.
