US AMUSEMENT shenanigan auction , anyone go yesterday ?
« on: January 13, 2008, 03:01:56 pm »
Hey, did anyone have the misfortune of going to the CHERRY HILL NJ arcade auction yesterday held by US AMUSEMENTS ?   It's always the same sleezy operators with junk HOWEVER, I noticed this time, they are working in TEAMS at bidding up their own machine's.   Your best bet is to get their early and talk to the NON OPERATOR's before they register their machine's, make a fair deal as it comes off of the truck.   US AMUSEMENTS hits you with 10.00 as a seller PER ITEM and another 10% afterwards.  I know a guy who sold a CIRCUIT BOARD and only got 9.00 for it.  He ended up OWING 1.10 to the auction.   Anyhow, the selection was of course lame, as many SELLERS stay away from the GAUGING of US AMUSEMENTS .  HOW MANY TEKKEN'S can one auction have ?   I stayed the whole time and enjoyed watching the SHADY guys bid against each other, then have the pleasure of loading up their crap to take home when it was all over.    I grabbed the only two really nice machine's their, a PACMAN and MS PACMAN with fantastic original artwork.   DK junior's that barely fetch  200  on Ebay,  where being falsley bid up to 375.00   THANK GOODNESS FOR CRAIGSLIST , as auctions around NJ are no longer AUCTIONS.   Have a great day !

I was actually really happy to hear this.  I was kicking myself for missing it.

Are there any east coast auctions that are worth going to?  I thought there was supposed to be a good one in Baltimore last month, but I lost the info somehow.
