Here's the solution to keep your Daytona cab' original and really enjoy it with something really fun and more reliable... What d'ya think about playing Out Run2 with the original Daytona controls ?

XBOX powered
Out Run 2 *Arcade Accurate* (but can play other racing games)
Sony Trinitron 29" chassis, full RGB display 'Arcade Accurate'
2.1 Sound system
Logitech 'Vibration' Wheel hack




PLease note that the racing cab' hasn't be modified or damaged.... all the operations done here are easily & quickly reversible

From the video it looks like you're playing in automatic transmission mode.  Can you get the 4 gear transmission controller to work with the XBox?

Seems like most of the controllers are set up to use up/down shift (or paddle) buttons.

Yes, I play in automatic transmission mode. Because I never play such Arcade games in manual mode, I've choose to set up the gear transmission controller with the UP & DOWN signals for the XBOX, in order to navigate in the menu if I have too (Out Run2 doesn't need it... I do it just for the demo    )

In the Daytona gear transmission, there are 3 switches, like this :

1

2

My choice is :

1 - Up for the XBOX controller

2 - Down for the XBOX controller

3 - Nothing


but it's of course possible to set

1 - ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- up

2 - ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- down


BUT

...the Daytona gears box doesn't really have a real central position between position 1 and 2, so ... it won't be natural to use it like this
