Buttons and Joysticks
« on: May 15, 2003, 04:27:16 pm »
I saw this on ebay

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=13718&item=3220956787

and was thinking of getting 2 sets (for my soon to be 4 player cabinet) and was wondering if anyone had experience with them or if this was worth it.

thanks.

just do a search for x-arcade on the main forum... it's been asked alot...

summary:  I bought the same deal and it's on my cabinet http://ubercade.randomdrivel.com and i'm happy with them...  buttons are a little short, but mount fine in 3/4" wood... (although if you want to put lexi/plexi on top of that you'll  have to do a work around of flipping the nut to make it work)

for the price the package is hard to beat.

I've got 'em.
No Problems.
The sticks are clones of Happs Supers but at a much better price.
The buttons, as rampy said, are a bit short, but if you are not planning to use a plexi overlay on 3/4" MDF, I'm sure that you will be happy with them.
I'll probably pick up another couple of sets myself for the next few projects.
 ;)
There is a theory which states that if ever anyone discovers what the universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable.

I think it comes out a little cheaper if you actually order them from xgaming.com in the arcade gear section of their store.  I just got them (you can read about my horrid shipping experience in the "everything else" forum) and I think they're very good looking (not installed yet.  :( )
