MALA/LEDBlinky
« on: February 21, 2011, 05:11:36 pm »
I installed my RGB LEDs ove the weekend and everything is working pretty well, but I think I'm missing a step for what I want to do.  I have Blinky working correctly when in MAME (lights proper buttons and speaks controls, etc.).

When just in the MALA interface, all of the RGBs are set to ON and Full White.  Where is this defined?  I would like to have the buttons lighted according to their player/joystick color (Red, Blue, Green and Yellow), but I just don't know how to do it and can't seem to find the information (seems everyone has problems getting Blinky working with MAME).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you checked out the LED Blinky site

http://www.dndw.com/ledblinky/ledblinky.htm

Oddly, it seems particularly difficult to find with Google now. I used to be able to enter LEDBLINKY and that site was one of the first to popup.

I believe you need the CONTROLS.XML file (or CONTROLS.INI, it's late, I don't remember which), which LEDBlinky uses to light the controls that correspond to the selected game. Also, you need to install LEDBlinky into the MALA plugins folder so Mala can see it properly.

Use the LEDBlinky Controls Editor - click the "FE" button (between the two top lists), from there you can edit the individual controls and set the colors.

Ah ha...that wasn't included with the package I downloaded from the Mala site...Thanks!
