Strange ipac problem

I bought a used ipac about a year ago and just a few days ago I started having a problem that I think is because of it.

Every now and then I think the ipac is shorting out my video card when I use my keyboard,  I would lose my video signal and my keyboard seems to lose power as well. This only happens when I'm in a game using keys and when I kinda tug on the keyboard cord running right to the ipac my caps lock key seems to regain power and resets. I then have to reboot to get my video signal back.

Has anyone ever had a problem like this or have any ideas of what's wrong? Can the ipac short out a pc if something is wrong with it? The connections seem fine.

Could you have tugged a solder joint cold?  It likely isn't a short - but an intermittent connection somewhere could cause a lockup or reset.

I think it may have something to do with one of the two female sockets causing the trouble. I can't say for sure yet.

That actually would have worked for me if you had answered the question. Polaris is clueless though.

Andy has also suggested people email him directly.  I doubt he ventures into EE very much.  I would also suggest not being a daft ---tallywhacker--- when asking for help...  And more people will look in Main than in EE especially the type of people who would want to help with this issue.

I don't think it's the ipac anymore, it may be my lcd or video card now.

Sometimes while trying to view web pages I will lose my video signal and when I turn my monitor off and then back on again it will be restored, sometimes this will happen a few times while browsing online and by me turning the power on and off again my video will come back on. Other times while in a game I will lose my video signal at random and nothing will fix the problem without a reboot. I have no idea what has changed as my pc has been fine for many years now and all of a sudden this is going on. I have not changed anything or updated anything. The only thing I can think of is my LCD is craping out or it's the video card. (radeon 9200 pci, 128 mb) 

Most of the time everything is fine, only when I get into a PC game will I have to reboot, web page blackouts are kinda rare. This is very strange to me.

Any ideas?
