Distance Between Buttons
« on: December 17, 2007, 11:53:07 pm »
Hey folks...

I started my cabinet project at the begining of the month with a Christmas deadline (for my kids).  It's coming along great!  The cabinet is primed and the first coat of semi-gloss is drying.

I started to work on the control panel tonight but I have a quick question:

1)  Is there a standard distance between buttons I should use?  I'm using 6 buttons per player so there are two measurements really.  Distance between buttons in the same row and distance between the two rows.

Thanks in advance.

I think the norm is about 1 3/8 inches, provided you are using 1 1/8" buttons.  There are a few full size print-outs available around here that offer curved and/or straight 6 and 7 button layouts. Do a search for "button layout templates" w/o the quotes and the first page of results should have some useful stuff.
