I have an 802.11b pcmcia nic i could afford to part with. (Out of the package, but brand new.) I really want a trackball, but not a busted up one.
I would trade you for that keyboard encoder, though. What condition is it in?
First, it isn't a busted trackball. It works fine. It just needs new internals, like rollers, bearings, I haven't looks, but it may need optics too, though I have one of it's optics sitting in front of me now. i attached a picture of the tball on the bottom of this post. One of the rollers is from happ, hence the one optic not in there right now. The rollers are in bad shape (and missing one), at least the happ one

The bearing are ok, though I'd switch them with new ones if I were you. I think I have a wiring harness around too, I'll have to look.
Second, I forgot to mention somethings about the IPAC, for those who PMed me I will respond to you in due time (it's a busy weekend and I still have a hangover, bachelor parties rule). The IPAC is an OLD ipac. It uses AT keyboard connectors. The only way to program it is with the old software, not sure if you can still get that anywhere. not sure if the new software will work too since the ipac has gone through many changes since that model.
In summary, here's a pic of the tball. The IPAC is super old. I will be responding to your PMs.
