Anybody know azsellsit on ebay?
« on: November 09, 2007, 03:08:45 pm »
I'll make this short and sweet and recommend that nobody buy cabinets from this guy.  I had a bad experience with him that has yet to be resolved.

Here's the link to the user you have listed:

http://myworld.ebay.com/azsellsit/

Registered on ebay today.  Doesn't appear to have sold anything yet.

I guess he means az_sells_it (he uses the e-mail address azsellsit)
http://myworld.ebay.com/az_sells_it

Seems to have reasonable feedback though.

That's a strange coincidence.  I'm suprised that the name didn't come up as "similar" when I did my search.  Oh well...

I'll post some photos each cabinet and the price he charged.  The problem is about a $300 problem, so it could have been worse.  I can fix up the cabinet myself by buying parts from mikesarcade.com or somewhere, but I was really wanting him to do it right and deliver what we agreed upon in e-mail.

He just slapped it together with what he had on hand instead of waiting for the correct parts, pocketing the difference in price from what we agreed upon.

Here's the pics of what I got.  I was expecting metal CP's, and the clips as delivered, all I can say is "wtf?"  I paid $1550 for this cabinet.

Why? You could have built 3 of them for WAY less then that

I paid $1550 for this cabinet.

I bought one without the namco reunion board for $1060 delivered before this.  I offered him $1450 delivered for that same cabinet I got from him previously, but add the namco board in there for me.  He did get the namco board right, but he failed to put the start buttons on the correct side (should be four start buttons), he failed to deliver the metal control panels, and he failed to use the correct sized clips, he failed to use dust covers on the joysticks, and he failed to put the licensed galaga control panel artwork on there.

I've been waiting 8 weeks since the date of delivery and 10+ weeks since I paid him in order to fix these problems, and I have finally decided (since he told me I had to wait until february for the right sized clips) that I would at least relay my experience to other people to warn them until he fixes these issues.

I posted just a blurb about this cabinet and the relevant bad experience with azsellsit on my ggdb page, and already he has lot one sale because of me (someone e-mailed me and I told him my experience).  I hope to prevent any other people from running into these problems.  At the very least, if you buy from him, use e-bay, not off-ebay.

He told the guy who e-mailed me that he had nothing to do with my problems (IE: he lied) and chastised him for searching google for azsells it instead of just checking his e-bay feedback.

The irony is that the reason I didn't build this myself is that I intended to put it on location.  I can't put this on location until these problems are fixed, and he claims he's going to fix the problems, but he's taking forever.  I'm missing earnings and cost-opportunity on my investment.  This wasn't intended to be a home unit, and I can't legally buy what he usually sells (the pirated boards) which he spent a lot of time complaining about (that nobody buys legitimate boards, everybody wants 39-in-1 and so on).

The irony is that the reason I didn't build this myself is that I intended to put it on location.

That's one ugly ass cabinet (from what I could see) for that much money, even if no one ever puts it on location. I'd only grab it if it was free then strip it down for parts or rebuild it.

why haven't you left him negative feedback?

I bought this and the previous cabinet from him directly, not through e-bay.  He delivered both of them because his shop is about 30 miles away from me.

So where's the negative feedback on E-bay?

Oh well, I'm not trying to win any popularity contests.  All I really want to do is get my experience with him out in the open.  As he continues to delay doing anything to help me, I will continue posting information about his business practices, including how he sells unlicensed boards and advertises his e-bay listings as including namco boards.  He told me directly that he has only sold 2-3 namco boards ever.

He advertises mspac/galaga with namco boards for $1200 on e-bay, but everyone knows that you can't put a licensed cabinet together for that money.  It's all just to keep the listing from being pulled off e-bay.

My experience is what you should really expect: if you want what he advertises for $1200, be ready to get a slapped together piece of crap for $1550.

He didn't sell me an illegal product.  He simply overcharged me and skimped on parts to cover up the fact that he can't really afford to sell what he advertises on e-bay.

I mean, the guy has no problems lying.  He's lied and misrepresented himself multiple times.  And the ads he posts on e-bay are lies in and of themselves.  Why stop with claiming that you sell the exact same serial number on the namco board each sale that you make?

Here's what he posts on each auction:

The serial number pacgal11706 has been the same serial number he's posted for years.  And he verbally told me on the phone he has only sold 1-2 besides the one for me.  The guys who delivered the cabinet (his name is Tom) told my wife "we don't sell very many of these."

Here's the image from the cabinet he sold me in March without a board installed.  I was totally happy with this cabinet and put my own namco mspac/galaga board in there that I bought off ebay for $300.

He charged me $1060 for this cabinet including delivery, and I paid $300 + $25 shipping on the namco board for a total of $1385.

I was totally satisfied with the cabinet (without a board) for $1060.

Also, here's the last e-mail I got from him saying that I just need to be patient until February.

He's in a whole different world if he thinks I got what I purchased.  I called him immediately when I saw the cabinet and told him that wasn't what I wanted, and he said he would fix it.  End of story.  I never got what I purchased.

Quote
Aaron,
First of all you bought the game I was selling with the clips it has, and the control panel it has. I did not advertise it any different. It did not say that the control panels were metal or had graphics. So my good nature in HELPING YOU with YOUR problem and MISCONCEPTION is my good nature and I should be hearing thankfulness from you, NOT RIDICULE. You got what you purchased and paid for, you did not ask for metal control panels (additonal cost $90.00), clips according to your likes(additional cost $20.00), or artworks which is an additional $60.00. So when the metal arrives I will notify you of such, it may not arrive (due to the Holiday season until next February). Please make a note of it.  Now if you paid retail $3000.00 I will be sure to provide you with the metal, and artwork that comes with the cost of retail. We will contact you when the items are in stock and available to you. Thank you for your patience. Jim

You should have definitely been more specific when you placed the second order. From your posts, it appears you didn't go into specifics of what you got originally. Now if in your complaint you showed him your first order, then he should make good on it. If you have shown him exactly what you got before, and you have documented proof that you wanted another "of the same", then you need to file a complaint with your credit card co. Assuming you paid by credit card.

You hold his money hostage until he gives you a refund, or fixes the problem. He'll become much more receptive then.

Well, I never bought from an ad.  I e-mailed him and asked for another cabinet just like the one I had ordered previously.  So he says to call his main number to place the order.  My wife called the main number and gave him the credit card info and gave him my name so he should have had all that information.

This isn't the first time he's lied.  The quote I put in there is an outright fabrication to mention an ad.  There was no ad.  I asked for the same machine I already ordered but with a namco board installed.

Here is the original e-mail correspondence where he agreed to the price and details.  I asked for another cabinet just like the one I ordered before.

The stuff about ordering from an ad is just defensive ---smurf-poop--- and demonstrates that he doesn't keep good records at the very least.  It should be straightforward from this e-mail correspondence that I wanted the exact same cabinet as before.

Also, if you can get me a good deal on an namco mspac/galaga board, that would be great.  Let me know if you have one and if so at what price.  Last time I bought the board myself.

Well, that's a lot of money's worth of miscommunication to his advantage.

I don't know.  So I'm supposed to just say "well, I should have told him I want the correct sized clips, so it's my fault?"

Even if you said he made good on the wood control panels because I didn't specifically mention this detail in the e-mail, what about the freaking clips?

Unfortunately, the only thing made clear by that correspondence was that you specifically asked for the "namco" board. I notice his responses worded that you would get a "midway style" cabinet. I get the feeling he knew exactly what he was doing. Now at one point, it  shows you paid for artwork. Is that from a different order? Also, alot of the communication has ebay stamps all over it. Thought you didn't use ebay?

All I saw is where you said 'another one of these cabinets'.

Yes, it sucks that the seller is cost-cutting, and it sucks you didn't get what you expected, but you weren't completely clear.

I'd take a look at his other auctions - is he still advertising them with the metal panels?

If you feel you have a legitimate gripe, you need to get with your CC company.

And you know, that's all the more reason to publicise this.  If he is telling the truth, the fact is that he's using the wrong sized cilps and wooden panels on the cabinets that he sells now to everyone.  He isn't making any amends to any customers how he's doing his CP's and clips these days, and he intends to continue selling his cabinets like this until february!

I have no regrets for publicising this information.  I realize it makes it harder to get what I want from him to "out" him so to speak.  I even told him about this thread a few minutes ago, not that he cares to defend himself.

But what I think is most important is for people to know what he's doing.  He's selling pirated boards under the guise of legitimate boards, and he's doing everything as cheaply as possible to get more money for himself.  I'm sure his business is crap right now since very few people have spending money (the credit crisis etc).

But do I feel like this was something I deserved?

Absolutely not.

Do I feel ashamed for bashing this guy?

Absolutely not.

Do I feel like a moron for asking for a namco board instead of a 39-in-1.

Absolutely not.

Jim of azsellsit is a criminal, and a pirate.  No matter how bad off he is, or how hard he works, the fact is that his profit depends on him selling unlicensed boards and representing his auctions as having legitimate namco boards.

The original correspondence was initiated by "ask seller a question" from ebay.

The purchase was not an ebay purchase.

It appears he used 1" ply on your first cabinet, then got cheap and used 3/4" on the second one. Same glass clips though.

Well, if those are the right sized clips and the wrong sized top, that explains a lot.  He did tell me he was waiting on the correct sized clips.

I don't believe him at all anymore.  And he knows how pissed off I am.  He treats me as if he never had any idea I would be displeased with the cabinet, and that's what pisses me off the most.

No I measured it.  It's 3/4 inch plywood.  So it was the wrong clips.

Email him a link to this thread. I feel pretty sure no-one would like this kind of bad press - although the thread abou SS may disprove that theory.

I also feel sure that no-one here would now buy from him.

Give him a platform to redress the balance...

I've already placed an order to rectify the problem with the cabinet myself.

I've given him plenty of chances.  The last thing I asked is that he reimburse me for $200 to cover the cost of the parts I just ordered.  I'll definitely let people know how that goes, but I'm not expecting much given how he's been such a loser so far.

I must say the clips are pretty bad and the control panel has a lot to be desired.

I got my glass from him without any problems.

No kidding.  I had a good transaction with the guy the first time around myself.

When I did talk to him on the phone, he spent a lot of time grieving to me that he's hurting so bad because the prices are declining.

I mentioned to him that everybody's feeling the "credit crunch."

Not just him.  Anyway, that's no excuse so far as I am concerned.  He chose to risk his reputation for $200 not me.  I feel for the guy and I have my own financial problems resulting from the state of the market and housing and so on, but that doesn't mean I'm going to give him money that's not worth as much.  Why should he give me a cabinet that's not worth as much?

Aaron,
We supply the clips you received, wood control panels and no control panel artwork on our games unless you pay for it. This will cost you around $175.00 extra dollars. It does not seem like you are willing to pay for what you want. I never promised you anything else. This is the way we build our games, you can always check out ebay item #300170550797 for another deal. But, they do not have any underlays or coin door and wow they are charging alot more than us. If you want the additional items in a hurry just pay the additional cost of $175.00 and we will take care of it. As I said this is my good nature to help you with your problem on our schedule but if you need it expedited please pay the additional $175.00 and I will try to help you out. We do not offer refunds or returns on these items. Jim

Thomas,

I will give you the benefit of the doubt.  Here's the original e-mail where I requested the cabinet.  I said I wanted "another one of these cabinets" when I should have said "another cabinet exactly like the cabinet I ordered from you last time except for add the namco board in there too."

Hopefully this clears up the source of the confusion.  When you started telling me that I bought a cabinet off e-bay, that's when I realized we were on two different pages.  If I had ordered from e-bay, I would have understood your position, but that's not what happened.

Let me know if this helps clear up the source of the confusion.  I was expecting an identical cabinet to the one you delivered to xxx, California back in March of 2007 (I paid 1060 out-the-door and delivered with no namco board).  I bought my own namco board last time.

This time I was hoping for 1360 out the door (I got the namco board last time for 300 on e-bay with a lot of hunting), went ahead and offered you 1450 out the door to give you $100 for hunting for boards for me, then got surprise tax which added another 100, then got surprise when the cabinet was delivered.

Even the first time (the history is in this e-mail) I got a surprise 100 for the coin-door and I brought it up in the e-mail, and it was never explained why I had to pay for a coin-door when the coin-door I had thought to be included.

Anyway, I don't know if this changes anything for you, but hopefully it helps explain why I'm so disappointed.  Every time I've tried to explain why I'm disappointed, you just don't seem sympathetic at all.  So that adds to my disappointment as well.  I'm just still very unhappy and I refuse to accept that I should just take this disappointment as being okay and normal.  It isn't.  This should have never have happened in the first place.

If we can narrow this down to a miscommunication, I'll forgive you for everything up to this point if you can make things right for me by understanding what I originally wanted, rather than what it might have seemed to you at the time (it may have seemed I wanted your e-bay cabinet, when I wanted the same thing I got from you last time except for adding the namco board for me).

So, he's basically saying that you have to pay extra for clips that actually fit??? What about the missing dust washer? Is that extra too?

I can see how anyone would want to charge extra for CP artwork or metal panels. But he must be full of ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- if he expects anyone to pay extra for clips and washers. That's like charging extra for windshield wipers.

This is the item he mentions as an alternative.  This is the full namco produced machine.  In the auction, it also says (calling him out by name almost):

Quote
PLEASE BEWARE OF MANY COMPANIES ON EBAY AND ELSEWHERE SELLING CHEAP, NON-FACTORY PRODUCED PAC-MAN, MS. PAC-MAN AND GALAGA GAMES FROM OLD, USED BOARDS & COUNTERFEIT/BOOTLEG COPIES!

Indeed.  Also, they don't include correct sized clips, leave sharp edges on the control panel, and don't use dustcovers.

So I just realized that mikesarcade only sells the 1" clips, so I had mike take them off my order.

Does anyone know where I can find 3/4" clips?  I know they exist because I have them on my other cabinet.  I guess I could cut a new top from my own wood, except then I would need to get t-molding to fit the 1" wood.

Gosh I wish this guy just did this right the first time.  I can't believe he thinks this is my responsibility!

Check our B/S/T/ section, one of the suppliers might have something for you.

No I measured it, and it's 3/4".  Also, I actually went to his shop today and showed up (unannounced).  He wasn't there but I talked to the people who were building the cabinets.  The shop was like a garage sort of shop with a small office up front.  They had about 2000-3000 square feet, and there was a ziplog baggie with what I would estimate to be about 200 clips (enough for about 25 machines or so).  They had about 15 panel tops that were all 3/4" pre-cut and lying against one another.  They were not 1".  They also had a big pile of the particle board, and the guy explained that's how they do their clips until they get their shipment in (he spoke english and spanish, and appeared to be someone who helps build the cabinets.)

They had a huge bag of 1.25" clips and a huge pile of those paricle board spacers.  They did have 3 of the 3/4" clips left, and the I was told that they were waiting on the 3/4" clips to come in.

If it's true that this will be happening until February, there are going to be more people displeased with the wood spacers on the wrong sized clips.  Hopefully some of them will find this thread before going through the same thing I just went through.

All the suppliers online only supply the clips for the 1" thick wood tops.  Personally, I think that if he can't get the right clips, he should offer to redo the top panel instead of putting on the wrong clips and dealing with unhappy customers in the mean time.

I refuse to put this cabinet on location as it looks like ass with those particle board spacers in there.  I only went in there because I figured he only did this to me, but it does appear he's doing this to everyone, just like he said.  That's the clips they use...

Ok let me get this straight. You paid a guy 1500 bucks that you dont know personally for a cabinet before you get it.  You didn't get alot of things you should have......artwork, right clips, metal control panels, dust washers, etc
When he delivers it you don't refuse it.

You shave off 50 bucks off ( a whole 3% ) the purchase price by mutually agreeing to cut ebay out of the deal and thereby cutting out your official proof of what you were supposed to get. You have nothing in writing except some emails which could have been modified.

The guy who you are calling a liar and everything else has 428 positive feedbacks in 3 years on ebay, 1 neutral ( which was a guy that had to wait a month for his cabinet ) and 1 negative ( which was a customer that gave a check that bounced twice ).
Other than your just one of the good guys here, ( and we just know you wouldnt do it ) how do we know and where is some proof that you didnt get a "deal" on a less than perfect cab, and now want to get the extras free by dragging his name around in the mud......Since this is what he claims in the email you post.

Really, i do want to believe YOU. BUT where is some PROOF that he is the crook not you?

It seems to me, having read the entire thread and the correspondence, that there was no miscommunication unless it had to do with language (but I doubt it)....I am assuming this guy is a Mexican??

The seller, Azsellsit, is intentionally overlooking the initial order that stated AHigh wanted the exact same cabinet plus the Namco licensed board, because he (the seller) needed the profit. I believe the seller read the initial email order, and understood it, however, he wanted the sale because he was hurting financially and so he decided to go ahead and agree to it and send what he could send and then totally ignore the specifics of the deal.

The fact that, over and over again....you bring up in your emails that you wanted the same cocktail as before, but he never addresses that one point - is quite telling. He wanted your money because times are getting a little rough for him, and now he is trying to play dumb.

Let this be a lesson learned and drag down his business on as many arcade oriented boards/forums you can find.

He seems like a real piece of ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- seller.

Not that it really matters, but yea its been a few months since i posted here. There are many people here that havent posted in a long time eithier , its no crime. Its been a few months since i had the finances and the time to consider putting a control panel together. I was looking through old posts to try and decide how i will set out the controls on my panel. No im not on the sellers side, and dont know him. In fact im all the way on the other side of the us on the east coast. But i just pointing out our buddy here has no proof of what he was supposed to get, and accepts the delivery. Then cries about it. Yea maybe hes the innocent one. But hes got no proof he is from what i see. The only offical piece of paper here is him ordering some parts. He would have plenty of proof if he didnt cut ebay out. ( which he was warned not to do in the emails he posted ) So whos fault is that?

Have you read this entire thread?  Ahigh posted a copy of email correspondence where he states to the seller that he wants a cabinet just like the last one he got, but with a namco mspac/galaga board in it, and the seller agrees to it.  But Ahigh did not get a cabinet like the last one he got.  Not even close.

Seems very cut and dried to me.

The other thing is that the clips are second-rate clips too.  They have sharp edges and I've already cut myself on them playing the game.

Yeah, he has good feedback, AND I had a great experience with him earlier this year.

Thus the reason for the warning.  I furnished azsellsit with a link to this post.  I don't think he is a Mexican, by the way.  The guy who spoke spanish to me was much too caring to be the guy I have a problem with (Jim).

As far as delivery, it was delivered while I was not at home, and it had the entire top of the cabinet covered in cardboard, and they refused to set it up inside according to my wife.  My wife accepted delivery and it was put in the garage with all problems 100% concealed.

Even if I had brought up the problem, yes I paid in advance.  I trusted the guy, and I lost.

I have already been to his location, and I've seen what's going on over there and what life is like for them.  I don't feel obligated to do anything besides protect other people on this forum from buying one of his cabinets, at least until he gets new clips.  And if you do buy, definitely don't buy from him direct.

Also, the guy who did this cabinet for me is much too lazy to actually post here.  Also I looked at the post history of the guy who defended azsellsit, and I don't think it's the same guy, but maybe a friend(?)

Whatever.  I'm definitely not hurting for $200, I just don't put up with ---That which is odiferous and causeth plants to grow--- and I don't like people who betray trust.

I think you're totally justified. A good vendor or business person always errs on the side of customer service because the word of mouth pays in off in spades. For this guy to act the way he has, smacks of desperation and he definitely isn't someone that fits into my view of the awesome people I've met in this hobby. It makes no sense for him to ruin his rep over 175.00.

What's he thinking? :dunno
