Hantarex POLO 25 inch TUBE - Chassis
« on: September 14, 2007, 06:16:48 am »
Hello

I have hantarex polo 25 inch with broken Tube. chassis is still ok (did the color swap test at the signalinput of the Tube.)

Can i use every other 25 inch tube to replace my defectious tube (with a good screen result)?
NO?
which hantarex type is compatible
Which other tube brands are compatible to give a perfect image.

Best regards

Maarten

from what you are saying one of colour guns is dead yes?
the tube should have a sticker on it giving the information you require, you may be able to find an old television that may do the job but obviously it would need to 25 inch and the correct number of pins on the neck, you would also need to swap the yoke from the hantarex tube and this could produce unknown results in regards to the convergence
you may be lucky and with some small adjustment to the yoke get a good picture
have you checked you do not have a bent pin on the neck yet ?

hello

The red color on the screen is very poor. i turned the cut off trim pot and gain. and there is a litle change but not much. green and blue is very good

Problem must be: red kathode, or Red input signal path.

is put the blue signal on the red cathode (direct at the kathode input) and the red input signal on the blue kathode (direct at the kathode input).
the blue collor was perfect and the red collor still poor. So conclusion. a BAD RED KATHODE (Bad tube).

if i have a replace POLO tube i don't need to change the Yoke (i think?)

Do someone know if there are compliend tubes from other vendors (and no Yoke change is needed)

Does some one have a spare polo tube, or knows where to buy (good resonable price)

I live in belgium ;-)

Regards

Maarten

before you change the tube there two things you can do.
1-i have worked on many polo and although is does sound like a gun faulty it could also be a leaky drive transistor or another component on the red line, now you can swap that transistor with one of the others in a few minutes just to prove its not something as simple as that(about 3 euros for those transistors)
2-if it does turn out to be a faulty gun then a tube rejuvenator could sort it out
if you get another polo tube then you don't need to change the yoke
i have seen polo tubes on ebay from time to time
here is a link to the schems in case you need it http://www.andysarcade.de/data/coinop/videogames/raster%20monitors/hantarex/polo_25/polo_25.pdf
good luck

hello
allready have the schelatics ;-). had no EHT voltage also but that prob is solved
allready changed the transistors of all collors but not the big power resistors.
i dont know where i can do a rejuvenator. (dont know what is tis either ;-) ).

i also have an intervideo tube 25 inch. (yoke change is needed then i guess)

i'll try 1 more thing. soldering the video inputsignals RGB (from the MK3 PCB) directly on the neck board.
when the collor is still poor, then i know the problem is not on the chassis input part, but in the part from the NECK board or the tube??

Ok to do that?

i have never tried putting the signal directly to the neck board so i can't advise
