Wire question...
« on: April 29, 2003, 05:07:44 pm »
I FINALLY got my cabinet inside my house again (its been outside for the last 4 months).  Well, I have to redo all the wiring (some got pulled out in the move)... and well, I want to do it.

What wire should I use?  I'm currently using ripped apart cat5 wire... and it's sucks.  Can't crimp it well, the ends fall off often... And it doesn't move well enought.

Also, where where can I get it?  Should I be looking at home depot or an electrician?

Thanks!

(I can't wait to start getting my control panels rebuilt!

Use a 22 guage stranded wire, it has good flexability, and I think thats what everyone else uses. You may be able to get away with 18-22, just make sure that it is stranded.

Nope....Wrong!!!!

Oscar has demonstrated a new, better way.  Check out this thread:

That said, I already bought all of my wire -- 20 guage stranded, I think.  So that's what I'll be using.  It'll work fine.

Still, look at that panel.  Very nice.
