37" monitor on ebay - good for Showcase cab maybe?

It looks nice, I wonder if there's a reserve.  I bet playing Unreal 2003 on this thing would be intense!

There's no reserve, otherwise it would state 'reserve not met'

I have the previous version of this monitor (actually goes down to true 15.75khz as well as normal VGA, but no line doubler or S-video connections)

The picture is amazing.

But let me tell you, it weighs a ton!  Ok, it's really around 250lbs, but it might as well be a ton.

If you want to put one of these in a cab, you had better plan it out well due to the weight and get plenty of help.  It'll take about 3-4 good sized guys to lift it.

Man, I'm awful close to this monitor. Should I pick it up if I can grab it for $199? Would it work well for a Mame Cab? I have the money and the method, do I have the madness?

Looking at the specs on that one, the only thing you can't do is take advantage of the ArcadeVGA card with it, if that should be important to you.

Anything else you wanted to do with it should work fine.  If it's within driving distance and can be had for $200, it could be a good deal.  I'd ask for pictures of the rest of the case though.  An overall shot of the monitor is conspicuously absent :).

DocMorda - I'd go for it!

If I lived close to it, I'd consider getting it just for DVD's.  I bet it'd do great for a MAME cab, if you're going to make one that big.  Imagine playing arcade games on that beast  :o

maybe wait too see if it ends w/out any bids.  Then, drop the guy an e-mail and offer $150 or something.  That's worked for me before.

P.S. I would be all over this (and incidentally would not have posted the link) if it were anywhere near me.
