ZiNc optimization help
« on: August 18, 2007, 10:06:10 pm »
So, I am trying to optimize ZiNc for Tekken2 and Tekken3.  I think I pretty much understand all of the config options and am using ZiNc successfully from the command line.

My question is in regards to "InGame" usage of the insert/home/pageup/delete/end/pagedown
keys.  I can see that they definitely make a difference to framerate, I just don't understand what they are doing. (ZiNc documentation is somewhat lacking on this issue.)

Also, when the game starts, ZiNc does not recognize the CPU and so does not "optimize" for it.  Is there any way to force ZiNc to optimize for Athlon when initializing?

My computer is an Athlon 64 3200 with GeForce 6600

Thanks,

spec

Zinc answers are hard to come by on this forum.  I don't think too many people have mastered it and from my experience, everyone has different setups.

You could try running it at a lower resolution?

Check out the renderer.cfg (default renderer cfg file).  You can change screen res, and a bunch of other video related options such as scanlines, frameskipping, level of texture detail and so on.  I'm interested in playing with this stuff myself, but am a bit preoccupied with the kids at the moment.   :dizzy:
