Do you need this passme model exactly?  I have an original style passme device which only works on the original phat DS

I need something that's guaranteed compatible with the EZFlash4... I have the "phat", not the "lite" EZ4, but the guts and the client are the same, I'm told, so it shouldn't matter... will be getting a DSlite, but I'm not gonna buy a whole new card as long as I can put up with it sticking out a bit.... what exactly do you have?

It's the v1 passme that the M3 guys released.  If you are just planning on flashing your DS, like I did, then I can just loan it to you for the price of shipping and you can send it back after you flash your DS.

So, I'd be flashing once from Slot 1 (ds side), then I'm good to load anything from my slot 2 card without worrying about compatability, it just flashes then you don't need it again?  ...and a nopass differs from a passme in that it doesn't actually flash anything, that's why you need it in slot 1 all the time, right? Maybe I have that backwards... maybe I should be looking at a PSP where all I have to worry about is bricking the darn thing  :P

Here is a page about flashing your DS

It's been a while since i've done it, but Essentially, here is what you do.

1) plug an original DS game into the passme device
2) plug device into the DS
3) place flashme software onto your slot-2 flash card
4) place slot-2 card into DS.
5) Plug in DS to power outlet
6) Remove back of ds
7) boot DS
8) Boot flashme software
9) Place small metal object into hole in back compartment to bridge a connection to allow flashing.
10) screen will prompt you when its done
11) reboot without flashme software on slot -2 device
12) you can now run homebrew \ emulators \ backups from slot 2 device without the passme device.

Thanks, but I'll pass on the passme (no pun intended)... if I can find a compatible nopass, I won't have to do the tricky flash thing with the metal and all... I can get what I need from China for $10, but shipping's like $20, and I can't find a US supplier that still carries them because they're over a year old... appreciate the offer, tho. Hopefully something'll come along

You can get a R4 slot -1 card or a M3 simply for about $40.  They are slot-1 flash cards and also work as a nopass device.

Another option.
