Keyboard Encoder Question
« on: August 17, 2007, 08:53:56 pm »
Hi Guys,

I'm constructing  a skeeball experiment.  I got ahold of a gutted mini skeeball machine.  I'm in the process of putting a 15"LCD monitor in the headstock.

I want to hook up the point switches to a keyboard encoder.

I only need seven inputs, and what I use must register keyboard strokes.

What are my cheapest options, besides hacking a keyboard?

Any help is truly appreciated.
Thanks.

Obvious choices are minipac http://www.ultimarc.com/minipac.html or the keywiz eco http://groovygamegear.com/webstore/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=76_80&products_id=200  I have a keywiz in my arcade cabinet and have been very pleased with it and the support Randy gives.  I have not used any of the ultimarc stuff but have only heard good things.  I don't think you could go wrong with either option.

I actually made up a skee-ball like scoring app that is free to KeyWiz users.

*edit*

Might as well post the link to the original thread while I'm at it :)
