MaLa Filtering Rom Options???
« on: July 31, 2007, 05:41:32 pm »
How does MaLa go about filtering the roms from the options it gives you. Master Only, Working Only, And Roms with files. As i originally selected Master only and Working only, but have noticed some games that do work are missing when you select these filter options, such as TMNT 2 - Turtles in Time and Salamander 2. Does MaLA have its own ini file for what it thinks are working and non master rom, as if it does it does work 100% correctly, and misses some roms out

I'm a Mamewah guy but, both of those game's drivers are still preliminary. I'm sure that's the reason they're are being filtered.

This is probably because mame.xml is listing both of those games as "<driver status="preliminary""

Try turning off the working only option.  Sometimes they work but I think they haven't been officially tested out, not sure about that but its a guess.

Would it be possible to add a tick box to the filter section in the next update for, 'Preliminary Working Roms' under the 'Working Roms'

Yes, that's possible. For the moment you can just rename 'preliminary' to 'good' in the mame.xml file. After a refresh of the main game list those games should be listed.
