My 12 year old son went on a field trip to a roller rink with his entire 6th grade class today. Yes, roller skating in 2007. I guess there are still rinks around. Reasons for pride...
1) They asked for volunteers to ride with the special needs and disabled kids on their bus so that they would have a buddy on the trip. My son volunteered and ended up being the only one to actually do it.

2) and more importantly... There was a Ms. Pac-Man cocktail at the skating rink and my son obliterated the high score and had a dozen or so kids gathered around watching him play. He said one kid was even gathering other kids to come and watch. The kid wasn't saying, "There may be a Donkey Kong kill screen coming up if you want to watch.", however.
Sometimes your children really start to show their true potential.
