Calling all Seattle BOYAC-ers
« on: June 11, 2007, 03:47:34 am »
Hey guys,

I just bought a house in the Thrasher's Corner area of Bothell!

I am moving on the last weekend of the month. Once we are settled, I intend of having a "BOYAC meet up" action at the pad to show off the new cabs I built and just get together and chat about design ideas, etc.

Any one interested?

BTW....if anyone is interested in helping a brother out with the move, there will be free beer and pizza

Congrats on the house - you're not too far from me still.

I'm happy to help you move and/or meet up if the dates work out.

Congrats on the house.  I grew up about 2 miles north of Thrasher's Corner, off 180th.  I am probably going to build a house out in Bothell in the next couple years, on some land that has been in our family for about 80 years, on 240th about 2 miles south of Thrasher's.

I don't think I'm available the last weekend of this month (family wedding) but I could try to make it to a meet, I kind of regret not going to the last one.  I bet you'll be happy those cabs are 1/2" MDF instead of 3/4" when you have to move them eh?

  Congrats again.

Thanks for the offer guys....my wife had the great idea to hire movers! So I got Steve the Mover to come and bring a couple guys....110 an hour for 3 guys and all the stuff you need! Hurray! So rather than spending the whole weekend hauling stuff, I can spend it unpacking!!!

So, I am shooting for maybe the week after the fourth...maybe the 10th or 11th? I work during the weekend, so unfortunately that is a no go. I will keep you posted as the time gets closer.

Chris, I knew you are in Bothell, what part?

Brian, I am not sure about street names up there yet...I am behind the Fred Meyer....a little development off of Maltby and 23rd. Is that close to your neck of the woods (or former neck of the woods)?

I go by that Fred Meyer all the time on my way up to the Round Table pizza lunch buffet.   :)

I'm in south, south Bothell, almost Kirkland.  Off the 160th Street exit.

Movers are definitely the way to go.   :applaud:

I used to drive by that FM at least weekly.

That Roundtable (if you are referring to the one in Mill Creek) is one of the Pizza places I used to play games in as a kid.  I like their pizza but what I really miss is Godfathers.  There used to be a Godfathers in Mill Creek across from Roundtable and another one in Canyon Park about 1 mile south of that Fred Meyer.  Their combo was the greatest pizza ever (well maybe not, but it was good and absence makes the heart, or stomach, grow fonder.)

They used to have a good pizza place where Thrasher's Corner Pub is now by the Fred Meyer, a Shakey's or something.

I never went to the malls much so I didn't do too many actual arcades, but pizza places were an OK substitute.

Nice call on the movers, I still move myself every time, but I only have an apartment worth of stuff, and a storage unit, but it's already in boxes.

I'll keep my ear open about the meet.

Yeah...sorry for the lack of updates. I was offline for about a week and a half waiting for Verizon to hook me back up after my move.

I am still living out of boxes, shooting for sometime in the next week or two.

Gotta love livin out of a box after a big move. I remember after buying my first house 2 years ago and trying to figure out where everthing was. Oh that's right I am still missing a few items.  ;D

Thanks for the update too. Hope the move went well. I am guessing that it went fairly well with hired help.

Oh man....I tell you. It was the best 600 bucks I ever spent. All I did was 3 loads of electronics and pictures and stuff. The movers did everything.

I just got the new Verizon fiber optic internet connection. It is friggin FAST. My wife just called me at work to tell me she downloaded a 75 meg file in less then 20 seconds.

My parents have the FiOS from Verizon and OMG is it fast.  I am jealous of you too...  hopefully when I build in north Bothell it will be available there.  There are manhole covers on the street that are labeled "Fiber optic" but I don't know if it is residential or something else, since I'll be building next door to my Grandparents I suppose I could check on Verizon's  website and see if they have it available and then I would know.

Missed this thread...I'm just south of Edmonds in west Shoreline (Innis Arden) and would be up for a meetup.  I don't have any cabs to showoff (yet) but it would be cool to see other people's creations.

Bon Marche???  :laugh2:
I know of a place that should have a lot of flannels... The Goodwill or Value Village. Yeah baby, good ol thrift stores.  ;D

I've made tooo many trips to the thrift store looking for those hidden treasures, last one was a Atari Lynx handheld game system (whole lot different then the PSP or DS).

boykster, You're not to far from where I am at. I am in South Edmonds area, probably about 10 minutes away from you.
