Just a few questions about a mitsubishi diamond scan 20m
« on: June 20, 2007, 09:33:03 am »
I just recently got my hands on a practically brand new Mitsubishi Diamondscan 20M.  It's a 20 inch monitor that can do 15.75 khz resolutions and can go up to 800x600.  I've been playing advancemame on it in native resolutions and having a lot of fun.  But I have a few questions now for anybody that might have some answers.

1.  What is the relative worth of this monitor?  There's and old post on this board where someone is willing to sell a 14 in. diamond scan for 250$.  This is a 20 in. with the same capabilities.  But I've seen one on ebay recently for 10$.  This monitor, like I said, is almost brand new, having set in its box for years until sale at a recent university auction.

2.  If I were to choose to put this monitor in a MAME cabinet, should I decase it?  I would really rather not if I don't have too.  But it is pretty big and puts out a lot of heat.  Maybe I could get away with putting a large fan and vent in the cabinet?

3.  Does anybody know how to turn up the color setting on this monitor.  It does not a have a color control on the exterior, only size, brightness, and contrast.  Perhaps an internal control?

Thanks to anybody that answers.  I know I ask a lot of questions on this board, and don't give much back in the other threads, but as soon as I start to learn more, maybe I can give back a little too.
