Oh,  I don't deny they are emulation...but they are quite a bit more reliable than the PC based boards which are simply MAME PC's running through a JAMMA I/O board.

I've got one of the 60 in 1 boards hooked up in my old Centipede cab.  I got it just because of the trackball support.  Also you can not use it with the original centipede trackball.  I had to upgrade to a newer trackball of the same size to get it up and running.  Something about an encoder or some such being not compatiable.  Anyhow I use it just for centipede and millipede and pulled my old centipede board with jamma adaptor out.  Maybe a slight difference in color between the original and the 60 board but nothing else that I've seen other than the atari name being missing.

What do you mean? Most arcade trackballs don't have encoders.

He means the older optic boards aren't compatible.
