Isolation Transformer
« on: March 28, 2007, 12:09:07 pm »
Hey guys,

I just bought a shielded isolation transformer form Bob Roberts for my table top cab!  but now I'm not sure how to hook it up to the monitor..

the label reads

Primary Input
Black & Black/Red 230VAC
Black & Black/White 115VAC
Secondary Output
Red & Red Isolated 115VAC

I'm just wondering what two wires go to the monitor and what two go to the wall outlet... and also how do i hook up the ground from the monitor to the wall outlet

Thanks!!!

The Black wire is AC hot from wall

The Black/White is AC neutral from wall

One red wire goes to one of the monitor power wires.

The other red wire goes to the other monitor power wire

The green ground wire from the wall outlet connects to the frame of the transformer with a bolt and solder lug. Then from there to the frame of the monitor or the monitor's green ground wire.

I have a similar dillema in that I cannot get my monitor to "power up."

I have attached pictures of the way I have everything hooked up, the main thing I am not sure about is where to put the two wires that brand out from the monitor wire.  Do they go in AC, ground? etc...

Note that this was a JAMMA cabinet.  The controls are now removed but I wouldn't think that would have an effect on the monitor powering on.  Or am I wrong to assume this?

It seems the green is the ground, and the black goes to the power.  Which holes on the second pic would i put the 2 ends in?
