line drawings for Consoles ala Retro Gui Layout for Mala
« on: March 25, 2007, 01:30:51 am »
Does anyone here know where to find line drawings for consoles that can be used in a mala layout like the Retro layout for mala.

Like the outline of a dreamcast console or playstation?

  Something like this?

Edit: I really don't know what you are wanting.  Do you just want the outline of the console, or are you wanting the entire picture?  I can also make one of the Dreamcast if you like want.

JUkebox

Haha, I see.  Hmm, yeah.  I will see what happens.  ;•)

I still need to know some stuff. Do you want the entire image, or just the image of the console?  If you want me to make the entire image that shouldn't be to much more work; however, I can't match the font that is used in the first 2 images (Seeing as I don't know what it is).

how'd you do that?

Just traced a picture of a Playstation in Adobe Illustrator.

oh I guess the entire image.  Using what you've made I can just drop that png into the layout as the background at 640x480 and I think it will be solid.  I can get you the font I think.

So I finished.  I went ahead and re-made the playstation one (Added the different font, and saved it as a .png instead of .jpg).

Hope all these are satisfactory.  If not, I can easily change them.  It shouldn't be a problem.  Just tell me.

Thank you Flip_Willie, these are perfect.

Do you have any ideas for MUGEN?  Thats a fighter type game (Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter, etc)

I guess you would need to be more specific about what you want.  Just the same type of thing with MUNGEN art on it?  Totally different art?  Etc.

Also, I am sorry to say that I don't have the slightest clue of what MUGEN is, so I suppose I would have to research that. ;•)

Mugen is a DIY fighter game engine.  Load up your sprites and movelists, menus,

ah, here, let wikipedia explain it.

for mugen it could be like, a 6 button fighter type layout with joystick outline.  Or maybe an outline of a simple street fighter character, I dunno.

Okay, well I tried some stuff (I assumed you wanted it on the same background).

One just has a simple joystick (Kind of boring).

In the other, I just traced some street fighter characters.  I will be the first to say that I am not satisfied with this one, it might be just me though... Maybe.

   Any suggestions?

I like em both.  WOuld it be possible to take the mugen title off the art?  I can add that with the front end.

and, I'm going on a anniversary trip with the missus.  When I get back I'll put your prize in the mail.  Thank you for your help!!

Flip_Wilie,

If you havent built your cab yet, you may be able to get everything you need without spending a dollar.

Doing front end and art work like this you could get all the parts and equip you need.

Revised, took the titles out  (If the titles need to be taken out of the others, I can do that to.  No problem.  Just tell me if you need it done).

When I get back I'll put your prize in the mail.  Thank you for your help!!

   Yay! :notworthy:

Yes, unfortunately, I bought just about all the parts I need a week ago.  ;•)

However, If I can be of service, I will be around.  I will help if I can, as long as it doesn't interfer with my schedule.

Have a nice trip!

Hey,

I would have made it for you today, however, my computer malfunctioned  (I need to reformat my hard drive).  Anyway, I will probably be able to make it for you sometime tomorrow evening.

Something like this?

If this isn't like what you are thinking, then just tell me.

Also, I didn't put the label up in the corner.  I figured you would probably just add it in your Front End.

Retro GUI is a great design/skin for Mala.

I was able to alter the vector files to support all the arcade emulators I've chose to use in my home arcade build.

See my blog article here highlight the software side of things including Mala and Retro GUI:
