Happ trackball quick question
« on: March 20, 2007, 03:04:55 pm »
Hi there , I've started buying my parts for my first cab , I was thinking of using a HAPP CONTROLS 3 " USB PS2 TRACKBALL , would this work with the ultimarc minipac ? or would I be better getting the ultimarc trackball ?
I've got so far 2 happ p360 joysticks , TT2 spinner with token top and was looking at this trackball with the translucent blue (Does it light up as is or is there more wiring?) trackball .
I was going to get the minipac with wiring harness , is all the stuff I'm thinking about com patable and do-able for a new be ?

Is the extra three buttons just extra buttons for the trackball ?( I think so )

thanks
Help I'm useless !!!!

You don't need the USB version of the trackball if you run your minipac via a USB cable. You can save money by just ordering a normal trackball without interface. Trackball buttons are just mouse buttons for using the tb as a mouse.   Wiring up for lighting is as simple as a high output LED and a resistor or a made for pc or automotive LED with resistor already in place.   You just need to mount the LED under the translucent ball.   There are a few adapters for that on the board somewhere.

You can get your Happ TB cheaper from Ponyboy or Divemaster (in the Buy/Sell/Trade forum) than you can buying direct from Happ.

And to echo the above, you don't need to buy the USB or PS2 version of the TB if you're getting a Minipac, just get the standard one.
