a few questions about paint.

i about to paint a few thing on my cab..
the outside is laminated but the inside is not most of the inside will be
painted with plain back paint, but were it is visable..i wanted to to do a nice smooth finish on it..
what is a good primer to build up from? oil or latex base
also what is a good semi gloss enamel to use?

thats about it really i already read a few post about sanding and all that good stuff..

Arcade game manufacturers all use oil based paints.

lol, should i call them up to find out what a good  primer and enamel base paint is?

i just wanted to know what a good recommend brand is for both?

Not a paint expert, but I THINK you should match the primer to the paint type.

I used Kilz odorless oil-based primer tinted grey.  It was not odorless.

I used Rustoleum Satin Black enamel.  Definitely not odorless.

Results were pretty good (I also was painting over laminate) but not as perfectly smooth as my picky eye had hoped.  [Again, not a paint expert, so that probably had something to do with it.]  I'm fine with how it looks now, though.

BTW, I'm U.S.-based, not sure where you're at.

Flat finish = spray

I just used some out-of-the-can acrylic spray paint.
Its the equivalent of Lacquer or Dulon which is what cars were painted with before the new 2k system.

You should be able to find it at an automotive parts store.

The have a primer also.

VERY nice finish.
