png background in mala generates error?

Hi I am creating a skin in mala and it will not accept a png for my background. If I load a skin like retrogui it will load the png from it just fine. But it will not load a png for me at all for my skin.

I'm making my skin a fixed resolution of 1280x720 and that seems to be the problem. My png is 1280x720.  Mala will load the 1280x720 png image if I have the resolution in the layout editor set lower and Mala has no problem loading a 1280x720 version of my png in jpg for my layout. So its not really a huge deal but I would rather have a lossless background.
