New joystick option
« on: February 13, 2003, 11:52:55 am »
http://www.redoctane.com/joystick-capcom.html

Seems like a good option for a cheap price.  With that and one of the good ps/ps2 -> usb converters you probably have a very nice set of controls.

Good starter anyway.

btw, I bought something similar for the snes built with professional joystick and buttons 10+ years ago the day that streetfighter came out on it.... That became my first hack...

Most of the playstation->usb converters have 2 ports on em, so for 60bucks plus the converter, thats hella cheap for a 2P setup.
Pretty sharp looking as well

It seems a bit too good to be true, even cheaper than the X-Arcade. If you add up the cost of the components I doubt you could build one for that price.

Is it actually made of genuine arcade controls though? I don't recognise the joystick.

Yeah, Thats what I wonder... I dont see how they could make it that cheap and still use authentic stuff... Wouldn't be a bad starter though but that joystick does look a little on the cheap side.. not a bad deal either way and you could probably put a super in its place if it ever broke...

The joystick looks cheap.  But the rest looks fantastic at that price!

This is an odd deal, you can get it for just trading in a used X-Box, PS2, or GameCube game for it!

http://www.redoctane.com/trade-in-acc.html

I can only assume there are restrictions to what you can trade in (otherwise they'd get a flood of $20 new PS2 games for a $30 controller). Ah, from the rules: "Only approved games will be accepted for trade-in offer."

They're an online game rental place it seems.

The fact that they won't give you a list of games that they will take is kind of sucky. Obviously they aren't going to want the games that suck.
