He was directly involved with DK, DK Jr, Mario Bros, and Super Mario Bros.
Pretty much from there he started working on console games. He's most noted for creating the Super Mario, Zelda, and Metroid series.
Since he's often credited as "producer" it's hard to say how much he's directly influenced.

This was kind of continued with the first Mario vs Donkey Kong game on GBA too. Mario vs DK 2 seems too puzzle-based.
