Just curious if anyone in the community has built something like this.  Trying to figure out how to use my Microsoft Wireless Xbox 360 Wheel better.  The Lap just aint cutting it.

Yea.. my grandma uses one just like it to get around.   :)

Honestly that is the first one I have seen.  Looks like a good idea.  My only gripe is that I like to sit down when 'driving' a game.

Follow the link, the thing is made for sitting on the couch and driving.  My lazy butt also prefers sitting down when driving and I think this might be the way to go.

Just curious if anyone in the community has built something like this.

Don't know... But if you find somebody who owns a welder, you could knock one of those up in an afternoon for way less money than they charge.

I would guess it is a fair markup, but hey, you charge what the market will pay I guess.  I love free enterprise myself.

I don't know about that...

Granted it's only like $15 in material
then you add the $25 in labor
plus $15-$30 a piece in powder-coating (rate depends on quantity)

So we're talking $55-$70.  I know I wouldn't sell something like that for less.  Without the volume of sales that big name products sell at you really need to have 50-100% markup to make it worth it IMO.
If there's bees in the trap I'm catching em
By the thorax and abdomen
And sanding the stingers down to a rough quill
Then I dip em in ink, and I scribble a bit
But if it they wriggle then I tickle em until they hold still
Lemme say it again
In my land of pretend
I use bees as a mf'n pen

A few DIY full racing seat units have been made.  Maybe you could adapt the wheel support only but I think it needs the low seat for the proper feel.  The couch seems a bit high more like a family sedan.

This one has been linked before.

look for the steel battilion seat.
Back in MY day we lived on the moon and we had to build a rocket ship from scratch to get to the Earth before we suffocated.
