CPO question
« on: December 07, 2006, 07:51:41 pm »
I'm having trouble finding a CPO to fit my CP in a style that I like. I'm looking for a plain black texture like on an X-Arcade panel...without the graphics.

I was wondering if anyone knows if either of these options are feasible

Thanks in advance for any opinions.

I have used the sticky vinyl and it has worked out well for me.  Easy to work with and not very expensive.

I've used the Black Pica Vinyl overlay from Happ (part number 49-0474-10).  It has a peel off back and goes on super easy.  I used it on metal CPs and in a few days I'm going to be using it on MDF.  It does show imperfections on the surface though like bumps/divots so make sure the surface is smooth before you apply it.  It sure looks nice though:

Javeryh:  Are you ordering a 100 foot roll?   I certainly can't afford that.   If so,  and you are willing to part with some of it (maybe 5 feet?),  lets talk...

Nah, I only ordered a few feet from Happs.  I know their website says it's sold in rolls of 100ft. but it's not.  You can enter an amount in your shopping cart and the price will adjust accordingly.  They KILLED me on shipping though so I don't recommend it.  I had some extra but I don't think it's enough to cover a CP - I'll check though.

Yeah...price was one thing that attacted me...$19.00 for a roll 2' x 18'.
I think I'm gonna try it. It is suppossed to be 10mil thick, which I believe is what most premade cp's are.

Thanks for the op,

How much was it per foot if you don't mind me asking...and then...how much was shipping? That definately looks like what I was aiming for...Happ's is notorious for high shipping.

Just got my vinyl for the overlay in! It seems like it will work fine. Its very thick and seems like it will hold up well.

I will post pics once it is installed on the CP (give it a couple of weeks as I am going out of town for the next week)

Was much cheaper than an "official" overlay...$20.00 for a roll 2' x 18'
