Mala and zsnes issue - FIXED
« on: August 31, 2007, 01:20:50 am »
Wow is the latest build of Mala easy to config for other emus. With the help of UncleT's guide and the presets within Mala now its a breeze.

I have lots a Super Nintendo roms
I have hit an issue with zsnes however
I have it configured within Mala
I have my game list show within Mala
I can select and play any game I have tried so far from within Mala

When i exit the game (with the Esc key) (and I may have checked the "esc hook" option too) The game exits to the Mala gamelist, however, the "starting" game box is still open on top of the game list and mala freezes at this point. The only way out is to CNTRL-ALT-DEL and end the process from there...... not cab friendly.

Any ideas how i can stop this?

Sounds like the zsnes emu is still running and not closed.

Sure but for a cure I need a anamnesis before. ;-)

What are your exact settings for the zsnes?

Try this:

Search the following in the file zsnesw.cfg:

; Disable GUI (0 = NO, 1 = Yes)
guioff=0

Set it to guioff=1

Save the file.

Then there is no need for the keyhook or a hotkey to close the emu, just press 'ESC'.

yep.

i believe that was posted a few times

one thing though... you also need to disable a few keys in zsnes ... it has the same keys as mame button values (1, 2, etc) assigned to some zsnes tuff by default.

to dol so you go thru the misc menu in zsnes and unassign keys for all that stuff.

at least i had to do that on my cab

and then yes, set disablegui to 1 to allow mala to close zsnes and return to the list (enable close wrapper/hook in mala to the 249 key)

good luck!
