New WinCab Jukebox Skin - CDBox2
« on: October 13, 2006, 08:43:11 pm »
Here's another CD-based skin -- 4 discs vertical with 15 songs displayed. Kind of looks like an 80s CD jukebox.

Can anyone with any talent in these things use this skin as a starting point,  remove the center key pad area,  squeeze to 768x1024 (vertical layout), etc?  I can do the graphical stuff but I'm not sure how to actually remove the 4th album (can only have room for 3 in a vertical setup),  etc.

Sure, I'll take a shot at it when I get home.

That LOOKS awesome,  and I can up the number of songs per album to 19 it looks like... I will report on  how well it works a little later.  THANK  YOU!   :applaud:  :notworthy:

It started out at 19 but I thought the font size was a bit small.  If you change the SongsPerStrip setting, you may find you need to tinker with the fonts as well, as it will automatically reduce the number of songs of the font doesn't fit.

This skin and the one it's based on have been uploaded to http://dwjukebox.com.

Fatal Error encountered.  It seems you didn't include the font you used for the skin...can you send that?

Nevermind...found it.  STEELFIS.ttf should be included in the zip though.  You can google it and download it from many free font websites.

Bad news...the skin wont work for me in the current form.  Why?  Because moving left and right on the stick moves between screens (next screen of 3,  etc)...up and down allows you to select the song you want...BUT it only goes to CD 1 on the screen...I can't move over to CD2 or CD3 with the stick because moving left and right changes the page....moving up and down rolls over on CD1...bottom of CD1 then jumps to the top of CD1.

Any way to have it jump to the top of CD2 when you hit the bottom of CD1 and then jump to CD3 when you hit the bottom of CD2 and then jump back to CD1 when you hit the bottom of CD3?

Or is there any way you can think of to use a stick to jump from cd to cd?

It should be part of the DWJukebox download, in skins/fonts, as of version 3.1.5. Is it possible you have an older version?

That's why there are page change buttons on the screen... if all you have is one joystick and one button that's pretty much going to be your only way to navigate.

Chris,

I need it to mimic the functionality of the other vertical CD skin you have... where you push up and down to select the different songs,  and when it hits the bottom of CD 1,  it jumps to CD2 and so on...

Not doable?

Not in that layout.  You'll need a layout like this:

I'll poke around with that...though it defeats the purpose of the other layout (more songs per album).   I just wish there was a way to scroll as you do in that layout,  but have it scroll from the bottom of CD1 to the top of CD2 with the original layout.   Oh well...

I think I need to reconsider my button assignments.   I have a stick, 2 buttons and 2 start buttons to work with (and and exit button).

How are you assigning the buttons and how are they physically laid out?
