ISO pink themed marquee
« on: October 05, 2006, 02:39:34 pm »
As my cab is starting to take shape its now time to start deciding on what marquee to have.
My machine doesn't have any real theme to it (except pink) so I'm sort of stuck for ideas.
It would be silly to use something like the pink ms pacman marquee as the machine looks nothing like it and I don't really like the MAME titled marquee's either.

Has anyone seen maybe a marquee with a pink design that has various different characters from classic arcade games on it?
Any help would be appreciated in my search for more pinkness  :laugh2:

You're going to regret it if you make the marquee overly pink. You need a little contrast to make the forms on your cabinet work, otherwise you'll get a bit of a monochrome blob. Make the pink in the marquee the accent color to pick up the cab, with something that will keep your theme like a baby blue or purple/lavender/magenta.

For instance, the new cab I'm building is is more of a medium to deep blue, but my marquee, side art, cp overlay and joystick balls and buttons are all pink and purple, with blue elements. You could go the opposite way.

I'm not a fan of the collage of classic art marquees myself, I think if you don't have nice custom artwork you'd be better off with something like some nice pink lettering over one of the aforementioned colors. Your call of course.

My 2 cents.

Green is on the other side of the color wheel from pink. Maybe you could do a tropical theme?

I found this, even though its not pink and I don't normally like the MAME marquee's this is very nice, It would be nice to see this in pink.
Im pretty useless with graphics programs but I may see what I can do to it.
