SF2 themed single player control panel...
« on: October 18, 2006, 12:33:22 am »
Putting this together for an XBOX 360 project.  It's modeled after a flyer design for Super Street Fighter 2.  I'm on the fence about the two non SSF2 characters I've added on the right and left.  Thoughts?

personally my opinion is that either the 2 should go or gen and sakura should go. true that not many people would recognize that they were out of place but....if you're gonna do the job might as well do it right ;)
on another note, it looks good, however, after the buttons are added and im assuming the dust washer around the joystick, bison deejay and guile are going to be completely covered(maybe bison less so but still) not sure how i would fix it but it strikes me as a problem

I'm assuming that you mean Balrog (I know that the names are different depending on where you live in the world) and the placement of that pic , Guile and Dee Jay are somewhat by design as suitable pics of those characters that matched the style of the rest were hard to come by.

sakura and gen were not in sf2 so take them out. otherwise looks good.

Spoken like a true, hardcore fan.  ;)  I may try to do a little rearranging to fill the vacancies those pics leave.  I'll try to post some alternate set-ups later.  Snaake, are there any other characters you think might work in place of Gen and Sakura?  Evil Ryu, maybe?

btw - thanks for posting the artwork resources.

Maybe I'll try a "15th Anniversary" theme and add some characters from the Alpha series and SF3...

hmmm...alfa characters i think would fit, but not so much sf3. the sf3 characters were almost darkstalker-ish in the sense that most weren't even vaguely human except for the return characters, alex, motoko, sean, dudley, elena and ibuki (maybe hugo). other than that though...yeah, they just wouldn't mesh.
on a slighlty off topic note: about the bison-balrog thing. I'm actually american but i play most of my streetfighter on my dreamcast, and thus most of them are imported. thus me using the japanese names on default.

*edit: was thinking about it and i guess that a lot of the sf3 characters are human, whoops :P but even still characters like necro, 12, ororo, and q...nuh-uh

every street player has his top teir of players... so if you play you have your favorites for each SF game... so why not just put your top teir players for the games youll play the most using the artwork from the game for the player you use?

just an idea... but prolly will work out the best :)
