Having trouble getting the guy to respond so I can arrange to pay/pick up, though.

Have the new DMD, haven't put it in yet.  Looks good, but then again, even blown ones usually look good when they're not installed.

Finally got the chance to put up a few pics, too.

Chad....

Chalk me up as a follower of the thread, but I have no idea what your doing. It makes for good reading though.

Heh.  I have such big lapses between work times on my projects that I use these threads as my own notes... so great to know people follow, but I'm also aware I go into huge amount of detail.

Bigass lapse...  :laugh2:

We recently took this machine out of storage and set it up again.  Been playing the crap out of it.  Still has the left flipper not quite as strong as I'd like it.  I'm going to investigate this very soon since I made the Final Battle last night and the only shots I couldn't get were the upper ramp shots.

That DMD I won off ebay is in and works perfectly.

Game is somewhat cleaned up but does still need shopping.  I'll do it piecemeal so it's not out of action because the whole family is playing it.  Pics forthcoming as it happens.

hehe, I use the project threads the same way - for notes.

Some RGP research on those tiny bulbs turns up this.

Quote
Original part was 7268 5V .125A .25(Candle Power) 5000(Hours of life)

I now use part 7715 5V .115A .15(Candle Power) 40000(Hours of life)
8 times longer life than 7268 bulb and the difference in brightness is
almost none.  I have been using these for 2 years and have not had one
go out yet.

Wonder how something like the MagLite bulbs would work for that?
Not sure about brightness or longevity, but you can find them just about anywhere.

Might work... I'll keep an eye out for them.  That Xmas bulb did burn out pretty quickly.

Ironically, last night I had to tweak the left lane entry switch and the battlefield drop target switch is probably out of alignment too.  I'll have to look at that tonight.  Last night I put up nearly a billion points just by defeating the battlefield over and over.  I'll have to clear the high scores once I get that fixed.

This probably isn't a long term keeper for me but considering I got it for less than free in the long run we're enjoying it.   ;D

Can't say anyone at our house has encountered that over the course of hundreds of games.

You sure about that?  You've never once had to clear a credit dot because your brick wall stopped working?

Not once.  Battlefield target issues but none at all with the brick wall.

Finally got some flipper rebuild kits for this game.  Rebuilt the left flipper and put a new rubber on it... now it is hitting the right ramp normally.  I didn't think the linkage on the old part was all that bad but maybe it was.  Or maybe the new rubber is the big difference, who knows (The Shadow knows).

Left orbit lane switch is acting up again even after I pulled it out and adjusted it.  It works if I manually push it but doesn't seem to register rollovers.  Probably just needs to be replaced as I don't want to bend the arm any more than I already have.

Next up is rebuilding the upper flipper and aligning it so it's easier to hit the mode start shot that way.  Right now I seem to have a very low success rate with that shot and I'm told I should be able to just hold the flipper on an orbit and it will bounce right in.
