PC monitor question
« on: April 05, 2002, 06:15:15 pm »
Well, nevermind the WG monitor since it seems to have a scanline effect.. but about mounting a PC monitor:

Since I want to mount it at a 45-degree angle and make it rotatable, can anyone recommend a particular make/model of monitor?  Considerations are: mounting surface (since a rotatable mounting disc will require a sturdy attachment area once de-cased) and tolerance to being mounted at an angle and occasionally rotated.. also, something with good heat dissipation (though I could always use fans for that) in the area of 19-20" with an out-of-the-way control panel would be nice.  :P

I'm thinking a Sony Trinitron 20" (19" viewable) would work nicely (out of the way controls, seems to be able to be mounted at > 45 degrees, and on sale this week refurbished  ;D).. but I have my doubts as to whether it would mount the way I want.

Sorry to say it, but your problems get solved if you purchase an arcade monitor instead. Their actually build and designed to deal with the problems you're describing.
