Hi folks,
I'm a newbie dumb ass and I bought Happs Competition Buttons for my control panel, but when I set up a temp CP to try them out I realized they were rounded (convex) instead of concave, which I is what I remembered that most video games used.  I guess I wasn't paying attention and assumed (even though it said convex) that those were the buttons I was getting.

The buttons seem to work fine.  Can anyone tell me if there is any real advantage or disadvantage to either button?

Much thanks,
Gmunny

The Happs Competition Buttons  are known for the heat they generate. Either after 2 hours of non-use or 1 game of track-n-field they have been known to spontaneously explode sending button shrapnel everywhere. They are called competition buttons because some people have set them up on player 2's side in an attempt to kill or seriously mame that player. Mame developers decided to name their product mame in an attempt to stop people from buying these dangerous buttons. Catching fire and burning down the house is typical for these buttons. These buttons have been outlawed in nearly every state, but Happs can sell them due to shipping them from outside the country.

:laugh2: Seriously.... post those buttons for sale in the b/s/t forum. You want to get what you remember and it doesn't cost that much in comparison to the cost of the whole project.

LMAO...
Either this is the best pun ever, or you've been around emulation too long and now spell 'maim' like the emulator.  :laugh2:

How nice of you DM!

I can vouch for DM as I've had several good dealings with him thusfar. Quick shipping, quality products, and the price is right.

Thanks for the replies, everyone. :)

Leap, I read the first sentance about the buttons heating up and I was like "what?".  LOL.  Thanks for the laugh.

Divemaster, I'll pm or e-mail you at the end of the week.  I think I want to order another joystick, as well. Thanks.

Btw, I did order the stuff through DM (great transaction, so I definately recommend DM), but I wasn't sure if I wanted to return the buttons so I wanted to know if any differences.  I'll probably keep some to compare the two.
