My three sided cocktail cab is almost complete. Here is where I'm at.

I have a track ball on the 1 player vertical side for centipede.

I have another trackball on the long horizontal side for golden tee.

I am ready to buy a GGG spinner soon for tempest.

QUESTION:
Should I just skip the opti-pac and wire my two trackballs together and hook them up to the GGG spinner?

What would I be missing by doing this?

QUESTION # 2: Is there any way to hook trackballs up to the spinner without soldiering to the board?
They treated me like an animal and that's what I became.

Just to answer your question 1, it sounds like you could never use both trackballs at the same time (that's what the optipac would give you) since they are 90 degrees apart, so you might as well go the GGG route.

  • Who the heck is that?
I'll agree with the above.  To answer your other question, you shouldn't have to solder directly to the Opti-Wiz that comes with your spinner- it's got pin headers.  GGG sells a cable that will just push right on to the headers and plug into the trackball on the other end.  You will have to so some work to wire both your trackballs together before they plug into the GGG cable, though.

Thanks for the reply guys.

I'll just hook my balls up to the spinner then.

I suppose that it would be easy to change in the future if I want to.

Not if you spun it too many times.

Be careful.
