What are your High Scores?
« on: October 02, 2006, 02:09:58 pm »
Directly inspired by the "Galaga score" thread:

Okay, so what are your highs?

When I was collecting, I kept track of my high scores.  Note, these scores were all achieved by a 30something on dedicated machines (no MAME) - I have no scores recorded from back in the day, before my senses and reflexes were dulled.  ;)

So. . . here they are, in alphabetical order.  Some are rounded off, some are exact.

Asteroids Deluxe - 55,050 (10/02)

Battlezone - 233,000 (09/01/01)

Berzerk - 13,400 (wife's high is about 15,000  WTF? :(  )

Centipede - 101,000

Cosmic Avenger - 31,190 (10/12/01 - last game I ever played on it before selling)

Defender - 145,500

Dig Dug - 309,000 (9/02)

Joust - 74,000 (10/02)

Karate Champ - 28,600 {two player boardset - 7th Dojo} (09/12/01)

Mario Bros. - 45,000 (wife better at this, too.  Like 300k for her!)

Millipede - 211,000 (yeah, I used continues.  Again, wife rules here at about 250k)

Missile Command - 66,630 (11/01)

Multi-Pac - I get too bored with all those games to care except for on Crush Roller - about 10,000; screen 3.

Pole Position II - 31,000 {Fiji Track - I think I got in the 50's once but didn't write it down. :/ }

Race Drivin' - have challenged for Championship on all courses but Super Stunt. Won Championship on Autocross.

Robotron - 624,000 {on fullsize upright} (05/21/01)

Space Invaders Part 2 - 6,500 {4th wave}

Spy Hunter - 260,000 (11/01)

Star Castle - 20,000 even {what a great, tough, tough game}

Stargate - 211,000 {3 ship fleet to start}

Tempest - 320,000 (with continues)

Tron - 31,000

Warlords - 161,000 {Level 6 - cocktail} (09/02)

Zookeeper - 1,114,000

Of the games mentioned here...I can't remember any of my high scores.

I either really suck (most games) or am really good (very few) at games.
There are a couple I would be considered avg at.

Without further ado...I will give the hi-scores that I remember that are not totally embarrassing.

Robotron -  9,999,975 (didn't want to flip it...my buddy had the previous hi of 9,999,925)

Pac-Man - 3 mil or so...yes I crashed it...once...talk about boring after a while...hard to maintain concentration and not screw up the pattern.

Mat Mania - bout 600k in the arcade...it just gets boring after a while...I did top 2 mil on MAME.

These are obviously the few games I was good at.

Oh yeah!

Donkey Kong - 142k...that would be one of the ones I was avg at!

If I can remember any of the pathetic top scores on other games I will post them.

Omega Race - 2.571.xxx

The last three digits I don't remember, as it was 20 years ago :o LOL
Start with one quarter.  Played couple of hours and had to go for dinner.  Game is very intense, so couple of hours gets you tired.  The score was good enough for a third place at some official high score website that I saw couple of years ago and that I forgot (second place was not that far).  If I really applied myself that day, I think I would be able to get close to number one 8).

Recently I bought real Omega Race control panel, so will try to relieve my old days.  It took me few months to get good at it.  We'll see how it goes this time lol

Donkey Kong - 222,300 - real donkey kong machine
Robotron - 750,000 - my first mame cabinet
Robotron - 524,000 - my current mame cabinet, it stinks, I have the 3rd best score on my own machine, my buddy John Stevens has the high, 752,250.
