Does anyone know this microswitch?
« on: October 04, 2006, 10:33:15 am »

Hey all!

Maybe someone knows if these MS are worth anything?

..or are there really not a great difference between them? I was looking
for some switches with levers for joysticks and fell over these.

Advice?

 :)

I don't know the switch in the pic, but levers are fairly common. Here's a cherry switch with similar lever.

If you search I'm sure there are lots of others.

As long as the switch has "common" (com) and "normally open (n.o.) terminals on it they are fine. Some brands of joysticks use these switches with the lever.

He is from Poland.  And I guess it is a autotranslation issue.

I believe it says.

"Omron, micro-Yamatake, Honeywell - they produce the best microswitches.  You can't find any better vendors.  Arcadeshop ... has very many?"

Not sure about the last sentence.  Anyone else want a guess?

If those microswitches weren't specified for arcade use, be careful; there's also the issue of actuation force.  I bought a bunch of cheap microswitches from eBay once, and although they were a good brand the actuation force is like ten times higher than that of a regular arcade microswitch.  I use one on my Exit button so it takes a good firm press to exit, but I wouldn't use them on anything else.

He states quite clearly in his threads he would like to be excused from being picked on for his misuse of the English language

"I am Polish dyslexic mwhaha I apologize for my English;P:
