  • I want my own arcade controls!
free to a good home
« on: March 05, 2003, 11:24:51 am »
I just got out of the air force and moved to miami, I have a lot of stuff in storage that I wont be able to fit in my new apartment.

I have a few items I need to get rid off, 1 free cabinet.

1. coctail cabinet, I started to set up mame to work in here.
incomplete it's a older galaxian cabinet. $ free to first taker.
    has no monitor

2. Working frogger cabinet, I would like to get atleast $100.00 for this
    but will take best offer.

3. not free but may want to sell (brunswick arcade air hockey table)
    looking for $450.00 OBO

4. computer desk $free to first taker.
5. barbq $ free to first taker.

If intrested email me Ckergald@hotmail.com to arrange pickup. I will not be able to deliver this to you, and it must be picked up quickly, as I dont have room to store it.
I dont check private messages so if you want something be sure to email me.

I dream of offers like this...no, really...free cocktail cabs, warehouse raids, finding boxes of NOS parts stacked on the curb during spring cleanup... It all started about a year ago when I discovered BYOAC...

Doctor: "tell me more.."

Pull a year and a half strike- it's over 4eva..

where are you from?
Game programmers do not play games for a living.  Would you say a mechanic drives cars for a living?

Him or I?

I'm from the Lower mainland of BC.. Vancouver-ish area..

I'm guessing that with the fact that Canada has ~10% of the population of US, (even tho' 90% of our Pop is within 100 miles of the border), arcades probably never took off here like they did down there, and that's why we don't have barns full of old Machines just waiting to be fixed up and played again..:-)

ah well..

just to clear some stuff up as i'm getting lots of questions

I live in miami, and my stuff is enroute to miami.

if you are familiar with the area I'm near the dadeland mall

the cocktail cabinet is still avalible at this time, first person to say they will definatly take it get's it. if that person doesn't show up to pick it up I will then call the next person in line if they are still intrested.

there are some pc components in the cabinet, I cant remember what I put in there right now but I know there's some stuff. I think a pentium 166 and hard drive.

I should be recieving my shipment on or about march 10th and will be looking to get rid of this stuff as quickly as possible.

it's a standard cocktail table. takes a 19 inch monitor. it will fit in a picup truck w/ no prob, even with most camper shells. should fit in most suv's also.

CA, OR, or WA?

couple fixer upper cabs  on ebay right now in tacoma, and a guy in the news groups fromCA was trying to offload about 10 first generation looking bartop poker games (looked like little cash registers, or Bigger NTN terminals...) for free.. actually, always tons of free stuff in the newsgroups for free and dirt cheap in California..:-)

never in Vancouver tho... :(

If the cocktail is still available, I would love to have it ... I live in Jacksonville, FL but I come to Ft. Lauderdale on business several times a month. I could pick it up the next time I am down that way. Please PM if this would be OK.

I am not one of those guys that says I will be there and then never shows up.  :)

I'm in Southern California. i never see anything for free or dirt cheap. I guess I just don't know where to look. :(  What newsgroups do you see this listed in? I only know of rec.games.video.marketplace

found those bartops..:

http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&newwindow=1&safe=off&threadm=2959c18b.0303031238.963b411%40posting.google.com&rnum=8&prev=/groups%3Fq%3Dfree%2Bgroup:rec.games.video.arcade.marketplace%26num%3D30%26hl%3Den%26lr%3D%26ie%3DUTF-8%26oe%3DUTF-8%26newwindow%3D1%26safe%3Doff%26sa%3DG%26scoring%3Dd

they look like kids cash registers, but even if they all don't work,  scavenge for parts and you've got 15 or 16 coin mechs, around 120 square video-poker style buttons..ummm that's about it I guess -unless you have a use for the LED's/LCD's...hmm..good sized coin mechs for bar-top mame units..:-)
