Ah yes a good old VENDO (formerly known as Vendorlator) "slant shelf" machine. Looks like you are missing the two lower shelves.

Parts and information are available at these sites:

I've got a similar vintage Cavalier Coke machine.  Finding soda bottles that fit is a little tough,  but plenty of different brands of beer fit just fine !!

I don't know how adjustable those shelves are, but Sam's Club carries 10oz glass bottled Cokes.  At least they do here.

NICE!!!
I have over 400 8oz. coke bottles for sale    :laugh2:   :laugh2:  :laugh2:           ummmmmm it's not funnny....i really do.
i need to    :censored:  get rid of them  :banghead:  what's sad about that is  the 400 are just my extras....  UGH!!!

they do still sell coke in glass bottles, I'm not sure Pepsi does, last i heard they had stopped.(In the states anyway)

I have a coca-cola similar version of that machine. When I got it i remember another collector telling me i could have cans run through it. I never tried it...in fact i still haven't used the machine. Maybe it's about time i did since my mini fridge seems to be on it's last leg.

Good Score.  Not a Bad price either.  I have several of those styles. 3 vendo's a63, a 154, and a 77.  And two vendolators a 110 and a 56.  Soda-machines is a very helpful site.  Glassbottlesrule is my SN over there.  Glass can be found everywhere if you look.  Coke is easy with Pepsi a little tougher.  Most Hispanic markets will sell glass 12 ozPepsi bottled in Mexico with real sugar which is great stuff and works in your machine.  In Michigan Pepsi still bottles 10oz bottles around the Detroit area but are hard to find.  West Jefferson DrPepper in North Carolina still bottles Mt Dew in 12 oz Longnecks which are the bomb.

I had a machine that I begged someone to take away from me.  It wasn't vintage, or anything, but it worked fine.  I finally got someone to pick it upf for $75.

Mine cost over $50 per month in electric to run.

this one runs on 250 watts, and the guy claims that once its cold, the compressor only comes on now and then to maintain temp.

wow, condition isn't bad. It needs a new door seal, two shelves, and a new vending solenoid. Refridgeration gets down to 34 Degrees empty in ten minutes. Needs major touchup with paint. But, I'm happy overall with my purchase.

Is it me, or is that identical to the machine used in the Tommyknockers TV movie? You know, when the cop gets his hand stuck, the machine spits all its pop at him, and the machine blows up.

That's fun, I recently finished repainting mine (I had more rust and crapier paint on mine).  I went down to a car paint store and got some white and creamy brown paint, and did a two tone paint job that I hope to some day finish into a generic root beer theme (the painting is done, I just have to do that artwork and shine the aluminum parts).

I have had it in my kitchen for quite a while now (works great, just doesn't look as good as it will some day).  I have been thinking of just buying the Frosty Rootbeer art from that soda-machine.com site so I can finally get it finished, but I really should just work on some custom stuff.

You can find IBC root beer at pretty much any grocery store in the bottles, and they usually will have orange cream, grape, orange, and cream soda too (I've found other random flavors in stores, usually not a regular item, on special and such).  Sams Club has the best deal on IBC roob beer (like $5 for a case, fills 4 shelves on my machine).  I actually use more bottled water than anything in mine (Sams Club sells the Nestle Pure Life 32 pack for like $4, usually get a few of those when I pick up the IBC root beer).  I get kinda burnt out on soda, and really like just having the water in there (keeps it really cold, better than my fridge).

I have no idea how much it costs to run my machine (my wife actually handles the bills, and I've never asked her how much our bill jumped when we plugged it in).  I also have a Ugonline Granita (slushee) machine going 24/7 (that was a great find).  So those along with the arcade and pinball machine, it's hard to tell how much just one of those machines costs to run.

Good luck with your machine, and now that you have it, I'm sure you'll have no problem finding soda for it (after I bought mine, I became keenly aware of every stores "soda situation").

You see, this is exactly what is wrong with kids today -- referring to the real Black Gold as if it were a common beer, then calling it awful ...

Vendo (as well as other pop machine manufacturers) makes can conversion kits for their bottle machines. They even make bottle kits for their can machines.

They will take 12 oz beer bottles no problem.  If you want to spend some coin conversion kits to change from bottles to cans can be had.

Can't stand to drink beer out of a can so I want it to be able to use regular beer bottles (Michelob). Any ideas where I can get a decent deal on a machine? I live in the Cincinnati area.

I have never seen this, I just did a google for this, and am not coming up with anything (I may be looking for the wrong thing).  Do you know where to get more info about this?  I like my bottles, but they are getting harder to come by, and I wouldn't mind the option of cans in the future...

I have never seen this, I just did a google for this, and am not coming up with anything (I may be looking for the wrong thing).  Do you know where to get more info about this?  I like my bottles, but they are getting harder to come by, and I wouldn't mind the option of cans in the future...

Vendo (as well as other pop machine manufacturers) makes can conversion kits for their bottle machines. They even make bottle kits for their can machines.

The conversin kits for this type of machine haven't been made since the late seventies/early eighties.  Only place to find one is going to be in the secondary market and they are not cheap.  You can try the classifieds on soda-machines.com or ebay.  I might have one available, PM me your machine particulars.
I used to be cool,  then they changed what cool was

I love the look of vintage stuff like that; it's really too bad that it's going to use about 5 times the energy (or more) that a modern refridgerator would use.  I can't imagine you could convert it to modern efficiencies but it would be cool (har har, cool. Get it?) if you could. That's one of the main things preventing me from picking something up like that. Sometimes it sucks to do the "right" thing, you miss out on the coolest toys.  ;D
If you build a frankenpanel, chances are I don't care for you as a person.
