WG9200 bezel problems
« on: April 26, 2006, 05:13:54 pm »
Hello all,

I just bought the 27" Wells Gardner D9200 for my MAME cabinet.  I installed the monitor into my cab, which is a Crime Fighters cab.  The monitor top and bottom mounting brackets fit nicely into the cabinet, the bottom bracket fitting nicely over the face of the board that the monitor rests on, the top bracket lining up perfectly with the back of the board that goes diagonally up to the marquee, the same board that the speakers are in.  Anyway, after screwing it in and securing it, I noticed that the monitor sticks out from the cabinet by about 2 inches or so.  This was a surprise since I bought a 27" bezel and assumed the monitor, when installed, would be recessed within the cabinet.  Not only will the bezel not work, but I cannot overlay plexi over the monitor since it sticks out so much.

This cab had a monitor in it before I owned it (which I assume was recessed when it was there), and the WG (I thought) was your standard monitor so I thought the monitor would be recessed so that I could cover it with the bezel and lay plexi over it.

Has anyone else experienced this?  Are there any bezels that cover a monitor that sticks out? I don't suppose the mounting bracket of the D9200 is adjustable (doesn't look like it).  Options?

Thanks much.

It looks like it had a 25" monitor in it.  This would explain the fit issue.  Here is a pic of the cab but it is hard to tell.  There are a handfull of newer games that are using the 27" - some of the golden tee games come to mind but there is no real "standard" for arcade monitors.

I had a very similiar experience with a cab I bought.  It turned out that my 27" monitor did not fit so I had to build it from scratch.  If the monitor is sticking out then you have to modify the existing cab or go to plan B.
