WTB/WTT: Nintendo Power Magazines
« on: March 29, 2006, 11:56:56 am »
Just wanted to check with the BYOAC crowd to see if anyone had any of the older issues of Nintendo Power they would part with.  Ideally looking for issues from the first up to the Super NES years, Fun Club News, and strategy guides.

Let me know what you have, condition, and either price or things you might need for a trade.

Thanks

I have a bunch, roughly most of the first 60 or so issues.  They range in condition, most in fair condition, some have the covers ripped off.  If you are looking for perfect condition I probably have a few, if condition isn't an overwelhming issue I could probably get you a lot.  I can list them out for you when I get home and give some comments on conditions.

BTW:  Where are you located, shipping one or two isn't a big deal, but the weight adds up when your talking dozens or more.

Located in VA, near DC.  Shipping isn't that bad if you use Media Mail.

I'd prefer pretty good condition, but it doesn't hurt to see what you have.  I am hopeful I may be able to get a set from one person, but I may have to choose between a few people.

You've got a fair number so no rush to get the list to me by tonight.  But if you can get me the list or a pic or two that would be a start.

Thanks

Doh!  Where were you three years ago?

I used to have every issue from 6-80something, including all the extra strategy guides and so forth.  After too much time rotting on a shelf, I put 'em up on Ebay... twice.  Not a single bid at $1.  :(

Best of luck to ya.

I was right here, lurking as always.

Too bad, too.  But it doesn't suck as much as having your collection thrown out in the trash.  I guess that is what you ended up doing to yours?

They were pretty popular so hopefully a few people still have them or have them at there parents place.

Yep.  Moving out and not enough space, so when they didn't sell they got junked.  I justified it by saying that anything in there could be looked up online, but it's really not the same.

Well, you missed out on mine.  Had them all with all the posters.  I'm in the DC/VA area.

Does any of this interest you?

All EGM's from 1-Dec 05  (possiblly a few of the first 20 missing, but I'm sure I still have #1)
Official Playstation Magazine I think the first 3 years with all the disks.
A bunch of EGM2's

Thanks, but never read them.  I may look them up to find out more info on them.

srabelpawz, I'll keep that in mind.  Let's see if I can get a few people with more of a set before I have to pickup individual issues.  If you want, PM me what you are thinking about as far as price or trades in case I go that route.

I have every issue from 1 to about 168 in varying conditions.  I also have the last 3 issues of the Nintendo Fun Club magazine.  I'm not real anxious to get rid of them, but if the trade/price was right, i'd consider it....what do you have arcade related for trade?

Thanks everyone who's checking.  PM me when you find out what you have.

For Arcade Items, off the top of my head:
Pair of LS30's (Used)
Top Fire Joy (New) Suzo?
NOS Wico Handles (one of them is for Defender)
Pair of Wico Rotating Joys (Used, new grommets) Can be used as just 8 ways as well.
Buttons (New)
Maybe some other Joys, Trackball, I'd have to check if there was something particular.

Not arcade related, but I have USB NES and SNES controllers or kits if interested.  If I can get a few minutes of free time, I may have a USB Nes Four Score and USB Snes Multitap.

PM about it.  I'll want to deal with the NP Magazines first, but depending on what you need I'll be able to get to you at the same time or at least shortly there after.

I have a bunch as well.  They are all in great shape as far as I know.  I'll see what numbers I have.
Next I'll be on fries, and that's when the big money starts rolling in.

If in your search you come across a copy of the Nintendo Payers Guide (I think that was the name, black cover) I sure would be interested in one of those.

Just a small portion of my mags. Every one looks like it just rolled off the press.

And are you interested in selling or trading them or are you just breaking my balls?

Ok, this is what I have:

Fun Club: 4, 5, 6, 7

Nintendo Power:
1988: July-December (bi-monthly) 3 issues
1990: Jan-August (bi-monthly) 4 issues
Volumes: 16, 18, 19, 20-51
Guides: 13, 15, 17, 19

Anything I'm missing is because I lent it to a friend and never got it back
Most are in fantastic shape, some have some scuffs on the binding side.  I'll sell what I have.  Gotta try to fund a 27" arcade monitor that my wife is resisting that I need.
Next I'll be on fries, and that's when the big money starts rolling in.

I bought a NES players guide on ebay for $11.  It looked like there were a few misc nintendo power mags for sale.

There were three NES players guides for sale.  I had yet to ever see one on ebay.
