metal cocktail panels
« on: July 28, 2004, 10:29:10 pm »
I had custom panels fabricated for my most recent project:
http://www.arcadecontrols.org/yabbse/index.php?board=10;action=display;threadid=21818
To keep the per unit cost down I ordered many more than I needed so I am offering them to members here at a few dollars over actual cost.  The end panels are 14.5 inches wide and the long panel is 25.5 inches wide.  They are in the exact same shape as the original pac man cocktail panels, just wider to fit more controls.  They are laser cut and include mounting holes.   Otherwise they are blank with no holes cut for the controls so you can set it up any way you like.  They are made from 16 guage cold rolled steel.  The short panels are sold in a set of two and include the two milky white plexi windows that go behind them...price: $30 for the set plus actual shipping.  The 25.5 inch panel is $25 plus actual shipping.  I will post shipping weights tomorrow so you can determine shipping from 33619.  I accept paypal, money orders and cashiers checks.   Here is a pic of the short panels:

Out of curiosity, what is the best way to cut holes in these?  Also, were they powercoated or simply sprayed?

I used a step bit for the small holes and metal hole saws for the larger ones.  You can also use a step bit for the 1 1/8" but the bits are pricy.  Some people also use punches.  The panels are bare metal as you would likely ruin the finish when drilling the holes anyway.  I recommend finishing after drilling the holes.  You can either use your favorite spray enamel like rustoleum or do what I did and see if your local powder coater will "throw them in" with a current production run since black is usually a common color for them.

Bump,

Actually have 1 set of side panels left and a few of the long panels.  I have greenlee punches now, so for an additional fee I can punch the panels to your specs.

OK, the "last" set sold, but I was keeping back one set for a possible kit for someone.  I doubt I will do that so I actually have one very last set if anyone wants it.

pm if interested
